in certain circunstances, what a fanatic could label as socialism is NOT bad, it's good.
for instance, when your house is on fire, you don't really want to be at the mercy of privately owned fire depts.
they have you by the short hairs and can extort any exorbitant "price" they see fit, because you are in no position to bargain or comparison shop.
ergo, PUBLICALLY owned and taxpayer funded fire dept are a GOOD thing, and anyone who says otherwise is a MORON.
the same argument applies to healthcare, tho I AM NOT endorsing any of the current healthcare system anywhere in the world. the real solution involves completely removing the profit motive from healthcare.
for-profit is fundamentally incompatible with the best interest of the patient. it drives providers to NOT want to cure you.
