For how long can an indictment practically remain sealed?

It’s a serious question. Doesn’t the Sixth Amendment and the right to a speedy trial militate against indefinitely delayed prosecution, even if the indictee is unaware of the looming indictment? And what about applicable statutes of limitation relating to the alleged offenses? Are our courts quite so cooperative as to agree with sealing case after case until the “time is right?” Has anyone seen such compliant courts in evidence over the last 3.5 years?

I’m not even convinced they’re real and that some pacerfag hasn’t just made an error. They imply a fuckton of grand juries having been empaneled around the country without any leakage for up to three years. In a country of such extreme political polarization, I just can’t buy that as a likely outcome. So wtf are they and what does the unprecedented number accumulated mean? Like you, I don’t anticipate getting an answer.

Indeed. But she’s also the over-promoted bitch that immediately behaves like an Oriental despot.
