His measuring tape says "Real Estate Hilbert Haack" Apparently it's some guy who died in 2008 and this is what I was able to find:

 

Hilbert Myron Haack, 91, of Forreston, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2008 at FHN Memorial Hospital.

 

Hilbert Myron Haack, 91, of Forreston, passed away Thursday, Sept. 11, 2008, at FHN Memorial Hospital.

 

He was born in Grundy County, Stout, Iowa, on Aug. 12, 1917, to Joe and Grace (Engelkes) Haack.

 

He graduated from Grundy Center High School in 1936. Hilbert married Lois Haag Haack of Summer, Iowa on February 18, 1939.

 

They had two children, Carolyn White of Mount Morris and Gregory, Haack of Forreston.

 

Mr. Haack was in WWII with the 473rd Infantry Regiment, Co. B. He was a recipient of the Bronze Star.

 

He moved to Forreston in 1948. He worked for Bowling Cattle Co. of Sycamore until he started his own cattle company in North Forreston in 1957.

 

He was a Real Estate broker in Illinois and Iowa.

 

He was a member of Faith Center Church, Rockford, a member of American Legion for over 60 years, a 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of the Classic Car Club of America.

 

He is survived by his daughter, Carolyn White; his son Gregory (Cheri) Haack, grandchildren, Doreen White, Jason (Julie) White, Larry (Eden) White, Sara Jane Martin, all of Mt. Morris, April White of Minneapolis, Heather (Ryan) Becker of Freeport, Sarah Gooding of Freeport, and Katie (Jon) Lohman of Chindu, China; and eight great grandchildren.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lois; son-in-law, Kenneth Dale White, two sisters and a brother.

 

A funeral service will be Monday, 10:30 a.m. at Forreston Grove Church. Pastor Jeremy Cheezum will officiate.

 

Visitation will be Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Burke-Tubbs in Forreston. Burial will be at White Oak Cemetery.

 

A memorial has been established in his memory.
