There is a species of Chinese fish that do this naturally ... they've infested the Mississippi River, too, up near Chicago (mostly). They are both invasive and predatory and will actually bite you if they can. They are, ISTR, being kept out of the Great Lakes by electrifying the locks leading to them through Chicago. Gotta watch Epoch Times ... they've got a sensationalist bent.
