A quick reminder, remember that it is not the job of the Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC) communities to educate white folks or anyone else on the struggles, racial inequities, health disparities, etc., that are present in their communities. It is our jobs to educate ourselves and more importantly research those issues that BIPOC communities on a daily basis. There are folks who are comfortable sharing their stories, for example I learnt while I was in college that I wanted to share my immigrant story and obstacles my family has faced with others because it is important to have my voice heard and for more immigrant voices to be heard and amplified, not all feel comfortable doing so because of the trauma that we carry with these stories.

It is also important to note that we cannot tell others how to mourn, โ€œproperlyโ€ protest, or how to demand justice for the trauma they have endured for so many decades. These racial inequities might be something some of you all might be inconvenienced with once in a while when you see it in the news, when once again we are having racial equity trainings at work, or when the current president decides to move this country backwards and continue supporting a system that is killing Black, Brown and Native lives. You might tweet about it, post something on Facebook, and then be able to move on.

But I want you all to remember that this is a daily struggle for many of us. Black, Brown, Native folks do not get to take a day off from racism, because even when we attempt to take a day to sit and relax, the system continues to criminalize our bodies and destroy our communities with unjust policies.

That is the irony, the person who wrote this came to this country of their own free will. They got 'educated' by MN public schools and are employed by MN government. But she has come to help MN understand white privilege, racism, climate justice and equity. Never mind her supervisor hired her because of her race (says it is HR policy) and there is a line a mile long of people born here who would love the opportunity to do the job she has.
