Israelite is the word you are looking for. All Jews are Israelites, but not all Israelites are Jews. The NT isn't proven by the Dead Sea Scrolls. Judaism is a religion that supplants your born ethnic identity with Jewish identity.
The Gospels were written 30+ years after the estimated death of Jesus. Everything in between was written by Paul. The formation of the early church depended on the convert of a Pharisee. There's some major problems with all of these that have yet to be reconciled with anything that would be considered a secular historical source.
