He was seated directly opposite POTUS at the cabinet meeting. POTUS would have controlled the seating. In the photo where he is frowning with folded arms he may be directing that at Rosenstein
This fruit could be APRICOT (the Turkish variety which has a longer leaf) or PISTACHIO.
I'm leaning towards pistachio because the grain pattern in the leaf is more prominent and the fruit is closer in shape than apricots which generally have a quite rounded bottom. And Pistachio seems to fit with dates which are the bunch of fruit below.
