Late-night talk show Jimmy Kimmel announced this week he’ll be taking the summer off.

Good timing.

Kimmel, host of an ABC show, has been mired in a controversy over dressing in blackface and using the N-word numerous times in skits over the years.

Now, the anti-Trumper has been forced to apologize, which he did so to Fox News (which he must’ve hated).

“I have long been reluctant to address this, as I knew doing so would be celebrated as a victory by those who equate apologies with weakness and cheer for leaders who use prejudice to divide us. That delay was a mistake. There is nothing more important to me than your respect, and I apologize to those who were genuinely hurt or offended by the makeup I wore or the words I spoke,” Kimmel told Fox News in a statement on Tuesday.

The “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” namesake had long been under fire for donning blackface when impersonating NBA legend Karl Malone, but other routines have recently come to light, such as imitating rapper Snoop Dogg’s voice for an “N-word”-filled track on a 1996 Christmas album.

In the Christmas track, a singer mentioned a “fat n—- in a sleigh giving sh— away,” referring to Santa Claus. The song also referenced “n—– in the manger,” including associates of King Herod.

“We hired makeup artists to make me look as much like Karl Malone as possible. I never considered that this might be seen as anything other than an imitation of a fellow human being, one that had no more to do with Karl’s skin color than it did his bulging muscles and bald head. I’ve done dozens of impressions of famous people, including Snoop Dogg, Oprah, Eminem, Dick Vitale, Rosie, and many others. In each case, I thought of them as impersonations of celebrities and nothing more,” Kimmel said in the statement.

“Looking back, many of these sketches are embarrassing, and it is frustrating that these thoughtless moments have become a weapon used by some to diminish my criticisms of social and other injustices,” he added.

Oregon county issues face mask order that exempts non-white people

Lincoln County, Oregon, has exempted non-white people from a new order requiring that face coverings be worn in public — to prevent racial profiling.

Health officials announced last week residents must wear face coverings in public settings where they may come within six feet of another individual who is not from the same household.

But people of color do not have to follow the new rule if they have “heightened concerns about racial profiling and harassment” over wearing the masks, officials said.

“No person shall intimidate or harass people who do not comply,” health officials said.

With mask requirements becoming more common, activists have raised concerns that the directives could put non-white people in danger.

“For many black people, deciding whether or not to wear a bandanna in public to protect themselves and others from contracting coronavirus is a lose-lose situation that can result in life-threatening consequences either way,” ReNika Moore, director of the ACLU’s Racial Justice Program, told CNN.

Trevon Logan, who is black, said orders to wear face coverings are “basically telling people to look dangerous given racial stereotypes that are out there.”

“This is in the larger context of black men fitting the description of a suspect who has a hood on, who has a face covering on,” Logan, an economics professor at Ohio State University, told the outlet.

“It looks like almost every criminal sketch of any garden-variety black suspect.”

On Monday, Syrian state media reported that the country's air defences thwarted drones in the airspace of Jableh.

Syrian air defences have intercepted an Israeli attack on its airspace near the town of Sweida, the country's state TV said.

Reports about Syrian air defences being activated were shared online.

According to the SANA news agency, Syrian air defenсe systems are repelling air attacks in the provinces of As-Suwayda and Deir ez-Zor. The source of the attack and the type of targets were not reported.

At 21:17 pm local time (18:17 GMT), unidentified aircraft fired several missiles from east and northeast of Palmyra at military sites in Kababj, west of Deir Ezzor and in the Al Sukhnah area, SANA reported, citing a military source. Another military location has come under fire south of As-Suwayda, with two Syrian soldiers killed and four more injured. The missile attack has resulted in some material damage on the ground.

Soldier Used Upcoming Deployment to Plan Deadly Attack on Unit, Indictment States

The U.S. Army confirmed Tuesday that the soldier charged with plotting a deadly ambush on his unit is a paratrooper with the 173rd Airborne Brigade's Sky Soldiers.

The Department of Justice indicted Army Pvt. Ethan Phelan Melzer on charges including conspiring and attempting to murder military service members and providing and attempting to provide material support to terrorists, according to an indictment that was unsealed Monday.

Melzer is a 22-year-old infantryman assigned to the 173rd Airborne's 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, in Vicenza, Italy, 173rd spokesman Maj. Chris Bradley told Military.com.

After joining the Army on the delayed-entry program in late 2018, Melzer started his active-duty enlistment in June 2019. He arrived at the 173rd in November 2019, Bradley said.

His awards and decorations include the National Defense Service Medal, Parachutist Badge and Army Service Ribbon, according to Bradley.

The 173rd worked with the DOJ and other Army and federal agencies during the investigation of Melzer, who allegedly leaked sensitive information such as the unit's location, movements and security to members of the Order of the Nine Angles (O9A), an occult-based neo-Nazi and white supremacist group based in Europe.

"It's still an ongoing case," Bradley said, adding that he couldn't provide further details.

"We are concerned with the safety of our troops, and that is our highest priority," he added.

During a voluntary interview with military investigators and the FBI, Melzer admitted his role in plotting an attack "to result in the deaths of as many of his fellow service members as possible," according to a DOJ news release.

DOJ officials said Melzer joined O9A in 2019. They described it as a group whose members and supporters have embraced violent neo-Nazi, anti-Semitic and satanic beliefs and have expressed admiration for both Nazis, such as Adolf Hitler, and Islamic jihadists, such as former al-Qaida leader Osama Bin Laden, who was killed in May 2011 when U.S. special operations forces raided his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

In April, the Army informed Melzer and other members of his unit that they would be deployed to guard a U.S. military installation in another foreign country, according to the indictment from the United States District Court, Southern District of New York.

One video that went viral online shows a white girl and ally of Black Lives Matter torching the Wendy’s restaurant in Atlanta.

The white girl is seen pouring lighter fluid inside the restaurant.

The Wendy’s restaurant was completely destroyed by the leftist protesters that night.

Atlanta authorities identified Natalie White as the Wendy’s arsonist on Saturday.

Officials were trying to locate the far left arsonist for about two weeks now.

During his arrest Rayshard Brooks mentioned a woman “Natalie White” to police the night he was killed.

On Tuesday Atlanta police arrested Natalie White.

The far left activist is facing first degree arson.

The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed in a tweet that White was in custody and being booked into the county jail.
