It might be legal for them to fire the police and hire 'others', but if they enforce sharia law, that would violate the constitutional rights of everyone that lives there, and will not be tolerated.
Rioters told in Columbus that if they put their feet in the road, it's illegal activity. Hopefully some of them will push their luck and get dragged away. One woman was arrested; not sure what she did.
Now the Columbus police suddenly walked away and back to their cars. Must have been ordered to completely stand down. Another pathetic display from local police!
Are they taking the statue down at this hour because if they did it in the daytime, more locals would show up to oppose? Not that it would matter, but I can't think of any other reason. A city doesn't do work like this in the middle of the night.
