I've honestly tried before and the issue is simply a spatial one. It's hard to arrange the web visually so that it's appealing and intuitive while also having complete information. Usually it winds up an ugly, tangled mess. Doesn't help only having 3 dimensions to work with. It's so multifaceted that it must doesn't lend itself well to infographics even if it can be visualized mentally.
It'd be easier for somebody with programming skills to make a map with links rather than actual, visible lines drawn between ideas.
