Is he the presumptive nominee?
Does he have a running mate picked?
If all the above answers are "no" then it will be a brokered convention where he will exit stage left for the real pick..
They did this to let biden soak up all the oxygen re: a __viable_contender.. Then they'll push the ringer forward.
Just like they did with bernie last time
