Wal-Mart Bans Mississippi State Flag As Another "Confederate Symbol"

Wal-Mart just joined the SEC (the collegiate athletics conference, not the federal agency) in pressuring the state of Mississippi to change its state flag, which is the only state flag among the 50 that presently incorporates features from the Confederate Flag. According to Reuters, the country's largest brick-and-mortar retailer says it will not display Mississippi state flags in its stores, and will remove all items from its website bearing the symbol.

The decision follows a wave of public indignation over the sale of "All Lives Matter" branded merchandise on Wal-Mart's e-commerce website. Mississippi lawmakers are weighing whether to remove the Confederate Battle Flag features from the state flag now that the SEC and NCAA are threatening the state's most prized institution, Ole Miss, and its ability to continue bringing home NCAA championships.

A powerful protestant group, the Mississippi Baptist Convention, which sports more than 500,000 members at more than 2,100 churches, demanded that state leaders adopt a new flag, which helped inspire Wal-Mart to take the flag out of its stores.

"While the issue continues to be discussed, we’ve made the decision to remove the Mississippi state flag from display in its current form from our stores," a Wal-Mart spokesman said.

Separately, social media users complained over links to products like an “All Lives Matter” shirt for sale on Wal-Mart's Canadian site. The company later clarified that the item was sold by a third-party seller using its platform.

As the global backlash to "racist" symbols - a category that runs the gamut from Confederate monuments, to monuments to Columbus, to other historical figures with little connection to the Confederacy - intensifies, anything that remotely celebrates the legacy of the Confederacy is being declared taboo, as most mainstream businesses do everything in their power to disassociate from these symbols and the people who value them.

India and China reach out to common friend Russia as deadly border conflict still raw

Days after India and China engaged in a bloody border confrontation, Russia, a common strategic partner to each, is this week playing host to the two sides. Can Moscow influence the outcome of their dispute?

The Russia-India-China (RIC) trilateral foreign ministers’ virtual meeting yesterday, hosted by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, was the first time that India’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi had spoken face-to-face since the recent military confrontation – now in the process of disengaging – along the Line of Actual Control, the de facto India-China boundary.

Reportedly, Jaishankar and Wang had an angry phone exchange just days ago over the border clashes, in which 20 Indian soldiers were killed.

The RIC meeting yesterday skipped over the border dispute, focussing instead on common global issues, such as United Nations reforms. Importantly, Russia once again endorsed India for a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council, a stand opposed by China.

Significantly, besides the virtual meeting of the three RIC foreign ministers, India’s Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, and his Chinese counterpart, Wei Fenghe, are also in Moscow. On Wednesday they attended the Victory Day parade there, where Indian and Chinese military contingents marched together.

Russia – a common strategic partner

While tensions between India and China over the border are not new, the fact that both sides have reached out to Moscow is an interesting development. Russia, which has maintained close strategic ties with both New Delhi and Beijing, had expressed alarm over the eruption of violence at the border.

The Russian presidential spokesperson stated that both China and India were Russia’s close partners and allies, having “very close and mutually beneficial relations (with Russia) built on mutual respect,” highlighting that both were capable of dealing with the situation, and suggesting that Russia did not wish to take sides – and a subtle political message to Beijing.

It is noteworthy to recall that, during the 1962 Sino-India border war, caused by a similar escalation in border clashes, the then Soviet premier Nikita Khrushchev chided Chairman Mao Zedong over the confrontation.

Evidently, China was enraged by the support their fellow Communists gave the Indian Prime Minister Nehru and their calls for "peaceful negotiation" between the two sides. Equally evident is that this squabble was an important factor that eventually resulted in the Sino-Russia split during the height of the Cold War in the 1960s, and led to the subsequent China-US rapprochement.

Mexican Judges Release 26 Allies of Cartel Boss After Raids

Mexican judges ordered the release of 26 allies to a cartel boss three days after authorities captured a total of 31 within the organization. The cartel boss’ mother and sister remain behind bars but are also expected to be released soon.

Over the past weekend, state police officers and Mexican Army units carried out raids in Guanajuato to arrest Jose Antonio “El Marro” Yepez Ortiz, the head of the fuel theft organization Cartel Santa Rosa de Lima. During raids in four separate municipalities, authorities captured 31 individuals associated with CSRDL, but El Marro managed to escape. As part of the cartel’s response to the busts, gunmen torched dozens of vehicles and buildings.

Authorities revealed that El Marro’s mother and sister were collared in the roundups. Soon after, the cartel boss issued video threats vowing to keep fighting for their release.

Since then, only five of the 31 were sent to jail before a trial. The rest were freed. On Tuesday, one judge ruled that seven of the 26 were underage and allowed for their release ahead of criminal proceedings, Radio Formula reported. Of the 19 others released, a judge ruled that 12 adults would also be continuing their case on bond, while the rest face no further charges.

Jack Del Rio Says People Can Kiss His ‘A$$’ If They Don’t Like His Political Beliefs

Washington Redskins defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio doesn’t care if you don’t like his political beliefs.

In response to a tweet about him being a supporter of President Donald Trump, Del Rio tweeted Tuesday night, “I’m 100% for America, if you’re not you can kiss my A$$.

Should we set a watch to how long it’ll be before Del Rio deletes this tweet and issues an apology? I give it a few more hours.

There’s no way Del Rio makes it through Wednesday without having to backtrack on this. It’s just not going to happen.

Given the fact that the players in the NFL don’t exactly love Donald Trump and the fact players are going to be kneeling this season during the national anthem, Del Rio isn’t doing himself any favors.

To make matters worse, Del Rio quote tweeted a screenshot of a fake tweet from Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez about keeping the economy closed to hurt Trump.

Trump Admin: UK on ‘Slippery Slope’ After Allowing Huawei to Build British Facility

The Trump administration slammed Huawei’s planned construction of a £400 million research and development centre near Cambridge, saying that the UK is on a “slippery slope” by continuing to allow the Chinese tech firm to operate in the country.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is reported to be “really furious” about the planned project and the American Ambassador to the UK, Woody Johnson, is expected to relay the concerns of the Trump administration with the British government.

The American under-secretary of state for economic growth, Keith Krach, said that Huawei is “an extension of the Chinese government”, and therefore called the British government “to put the whole thing in perspective — aggressive tactics of the Chinese Communist Party, because it all starts from there”.

“They are after the people and technology. They want to co-opt the researchers and talent from one of the most prestigious universities. They want to get their hands on the technology and IP [intellectual property] to take back to China,” Mr Krach told The Times.

“Their stated playbook is to ‘seduce with money, and reinforce with intimidation and retaliation’. It’s textbook. Here comes the carrot, here comes the stick. We are really concerned. It is about UK national security,” he added.

This week, Huawei is expected to receive planning permission from the government to start construction on the facility, which will be located just miles away from Cambridge University as well as the Japanese-owned semiconductor firm ARM Holdings.

The former first secretary of state Damian Green warned that the move was “clearly designed to influence the debate” around Huawei’s involvement in Britain’s 5G network.

“The government calls Huawei a high-risk vendor and I want to see a path towards zero involvement from Huawei in the 5G network,” Mr Green said.

The city of Phoenix could fine the president and attendees $250 for refusing to wear masks at his rally

The Mayor of Phoenix urged President Donald Trump and attendees at his Tuesday campaign rally in the city to wear face masks in

accordance with her new ordinance requiring the facial coverings in public places as the state's coronavirus infections surge. The president did not wear a mask.

Mayor Kate Gallego said on Sunday that she wasn't planning to enforce the $250 fine for not wearing a mask at the rally. But she argued that the event will also violate the Center for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines advising social distancing and mask-wearing.

"While I do not believe an event of this magnitude can be held safely, particularly as Arizona sees rising COVID cases, the President has decided to continue with this rally," Gallego said in a Monday statement to Business Insider. "Everyone attending tomorrow's event, particularly any elected official, should set an example to residents by wearing a mask. This includes the President."

Gallego added that city authorities had contacted Trump's campaign and the church to inform them of the city's mask-wearing policy.

"The goal of this policy is not to hand out citations but to educate the public on the virus and its transmission," she said.

Arizona has seen its coronavirus infections and hospitalizations surge in recent weeks following the state's early reopening.

The president traveled to Arizona on Tuesday to visit a portion of the US-Mexico border wall in Yuma and to hold his second rally during the coronavirus pandemic. The event, hosted by Dream City Church, was organized by Students for Trump, an arm of the right-wing Turning Point Action organization.

The megachurch can hold up to 3,000 attendees and event organizers say social distancing and face masks will be optional. Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey, a Republican, is scheduled to attend Trump's rally and has recently supported efforts to encourage residents of his state to wear masks in public, but hasn't issued a state-wide mandate.

Leaders of the church have also insisted the event will be safe for attendees. Pastor Luke Barnett put out a video statement on Tuesday announcing that the church had installed an air filtration system that they falsely claimed "kills 99.9% of COVID within 10 minutes." Barnett insisted that when attendees enter the auditorium they can rest assured "you'll be safe and protected."

The company that produces the air purifier, CleanAir EXP, later released a statement contradicting the church leaders' claims and noting that the device has only been tested on coronavirus "surrogates" and will not prevent people from spreading the virus to each other through coughs, sneezes, and other particle transmissions.

Images and videos of Trump supporters gathering at the church on Tuesday prior to the president's arrival showed people sitting closely together with very few wearing masks.

The president has faced widespread criticism for his decision to restart his campaign rallies even as coronavirus infections continue to surge across the country. Just 6,200 supporters attended his Saturday rally in Tulsa, which was held in an indoor arena that can seat 19,000 people.

‘Death to Whites’ Graffiti Appears on Belgian Town Hall Building

Graffiti calling for the death of white people and insults toward police was found on the walls of the town hall of the Belgian town of Zaventem, with the local mayor connecting the statements to Black Lives Matter supporters.

The phrases “death to white people” and “fuck the police” were found written on the side of the building last weekend. Local mayor Ingrid Holemans said that she is taking the statements very seriously and that they are likely connected to the resurgence of the movement inspired by the death of George Floyd at the hands of a white police officer.

“It’s a reaction to what happened in the United States,” Holemans said. She added: “It has to do with the death of George Floyd, the African American who died during a police intervention.”

“And now, someone in Zaventem believes that it is necessary to tag the town hall building. But that, too, is violence. And we cannot fight violence with violence,” Holemans said, according to a Monday report by Belgian news site 7sur7.

The mayor said that currently no suspects had been arrested, but she stated that those responsible would be punished and made to do community service.

“People who do this must be aware of what they are doing. This is not the way to talk about problems,” she said.

Whether or not the local police treat the act as a hate crime remains to be seen. But the incident comes just days before the mainstream media and politicians in the UK widely condemned a banner flown on Monday near a football match in Burnley stating that “white lives matter”.

Police in the UK initially stated that they were investigating the man behind the banner, allegedly a Burnley football fan named Jake Hepple. But police said on Tuesday that the incident was not a criminal matter.

“After assessing all the information available surrounding this incident, we have concluded that there are no criminal offences that have been disclosed at this time. We will continue to work with our partners at the football club and within the local authority,” Lancashire Police Chief Superintendent Russ Procter said.

Earlier this month in Paris, anti-mass migration activists Generation Identitaire dropped a similar banner at a BLM protest. Some in the BLM crowd responded by shouting “dirty Jews” at the activists.

Taxpayer-Funded Radio Debate: Chess Is Racist Because White Moves First

The notion that somehow the ancient pastime of chess is inherently racist due to the rule of white pieces moving first has been broached on an Australian taxpayer-funded national radio network.

The controversy arose when the national broadcaster ABC proposed a radio slot on the matter Tuesday and sought an interview with John Adams, an economist who represented the Australian Chess Federation in 2015.

Adams declined, but then went on social media alleging the ABC had taken the position chess was “racist.”

“The ABC have taken the view that chess is RACIST given that white always go first,” he said.

Adams further explained the ABC was looking for a chess offical to comment on whether the rules should be altered.

“Trust the taxpayer funded national broadcaster to apply ideological Marxist frameworks to anything & everything in Australia,” he added.

Adams later told a different radio host the argument has been circulating in chess circles for years.

“All of this stuff is completely ridiculous,” he said on Radio 2GB.

“We’ve got bigger issues that are facing Australia and I don’t want the ABC talking about this sort of nonsense.”

Farage Releases Footage of Latest Illegal Boat Migrants Loaded Onto Coaches at Dover

Brexit leader Nigel Farage has released more footage of illegal boat migrants being brought ashore and loaded onto coaches by the British Border Force, saying the numbers are “so overwhelming” that the government is resorting to busing migrants “all over the country”.

On Wednesday, dozens more illegal migrants reached British shores after crossing the English Channel from France. The migrants will be added to the ever-increasing toll, which has already surpassed the total number recorded last year in just six months.

The crossings on Wednesday, which according to the Daily Mail were comprised of Iranian, Sudanese, and Kuwaiti men, bring the total number of illegal boat migrants to 2,226, compared to last year which saw 1,890 migrants cross the channel.

Mr Farage released footage of the migrants being escorted onto British soil by immigration officials, before being boarded onto coaches, which will presumably take them to immigration processing facilities, from where they will likely be released into the country.

In the past seven weeks alone, 1,100 illegal migrants have reached the country by boat, none of whom have been deported. Since the beginning of last year, just 155 migrants have successfully been deported by the British government, despite promises from Home Secretary Priti Patel.

On Tuesday, the Minister for Immigration Compliance and the Courts, Chris Philp repeated the standard government response of vowing to crack down on people-smuggling gangs

“Using all the skills of Border Force, the National Crime Agency, Immigration Enforcement and French Law enforcement, we are determined to dismantle these ruthless criminal gangs who facilitate these crossings and put people’s lives in danger and bring them to justice,” Philip said.

On Monday, Mr Farage blasted the “Conservative in name only” government of Prime Minister Boris Johnson, labelling their response to the growing migrant crisis as “weak” and “pathetic”.

“The fault lies firmly, squarely with the British government. We are weak, we are pathetic, we don’t send people away who fail to get asylum, we just allow them to keep applying and appealing until in the end they pretty much get what they want,” Farage said.

Pope Francis accuses priests who defied pandemic safety measures of acting like ‘adolescents’

Pope Francis praised “the difficult and sometimes heroic service” of medical personnel and priests during the COVID-19 pandemic but expressed sharp criticism for the behavior of those priests who defied safety measures.

“The pastoral zeal and creative concern of priests has helped people in their faith journeys and given them companionship in the presence of pain or fear," he said, noting that most priests were “obedient and creative” in remaining close to their flock in the difficult months of the pandemic. “They were fathers, not adolescents,” Francis said.

This priestly creativity, he said, won out over what he called the "adolescent resistance" of some priests to the measures authorities put in place to protect people from the novel coronavirus.

At the height of the pandemic, some members of the clergy spoke out against the closure of churches. Among them, conservative Catholic Cardinal Raymond Burke issued an open letter stating that access to Mass and the sacraments must not be denied even as the world faces the coronavirus pandemic.

In the letter, published March 21, Burke noted that, just as people are able to continue going to pharmacies and supermarkets, the faithful “must be able to pray in our churches and chapels, receive the Sacraments, and engage in acts of public prayer and devotion, so that we know God’s closeness to us and remain close to Him, fittingly calling upon His help.”

Pope Francis’ Sunday remarks were made at the Vatican to an audience of the doctors, nurses and health workers from the northern Italian region of Lombardy, which was among the hardest hit by the pandemic.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak in Italy in February, more than 150 doctors, 34 nurses, 18 health professionals and 13 pharmacists have died from the virus, according to data published by the Italian Medical Board.

Of the 150 doctors, 51 were from the Lombardy region, which also experienced the highest death toll in the Italian peninsula — 16,570 COVID-19-related deaths, according to official government data.

US Draws Up Plan To Slap Tariffs On $3.1 Billion In European Goods

Back in October, the World Trade Organizations announced that the US could legally retaliate against the EU by slapping new tariffs on some $7.5 billion in European exports as punishment for the Europeans providing illegal government subsidies to Airbus. At the time, we warned that this was like throwing gasoline on the embers of the US-EU trade spat as the Trump administration auto tariffs still loomed large over the global economic landscape.

Since then, the US has imposed some of those tariffs. Now, Robert Lighthizer has a plan for the last $3.1 billion

In keeping with the ruling, the Office of the Trade Rep has finally come up with a list of European goods to be targeted by these tariffs. But Lighthizer & Co. are also planning to increase tariffs on other European goodsfrom aircraft and aircraft parts to dairy products like cheese and yogurt according to a notice published late Tuesday evening outlining the department's actions, and opening a month-long comment period to solicit feedback before pushing ahead.

According to Bloomberg, if the US follows through with this plan, it could hammer European luxury brands and spirit makers at a time when those businesses are already feeling a serious pinch from the coronavirus outbreak, which has hurt consumption of liquor at restaurants and social gatherings (while many have been buying more booze to enjoy at home).

If the U.S. follows through with its plan, it could hammer European luxury brands like Givenchy and Hermes which produce leather goods and Remy Cointreau and Pernod Ricard, which make cognac and champagne. LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton would be particularly vulnerable because it produces a wide array of these products.

Tariffs on British gin could increase U.S. prices at peak season for gin-and-tonics, potentially hurting British spirits companies like Diageo Plc, the London-based maker of Tanqueray; James Burrough, the maker of Beefeater gin; and William Grant & Sons, the maker of Hendricks gin.

German imported beer would also take a hit, potentially giving a boost to the oversaturated American craft beer market.

New U.S. duties might also dampen demand for German beer ahead of any Oktoberfest celebrations that aren’t already canceled because of the coronavirus.

The addtional import taxes would already add to the 25% tariff the U.S. imposed last year on imports of Scotch and Irish Whisky and liqueurs and cordials from Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain, and UK.

The Distilled Spirits Council in the U.S. said it opposed any additional spirits tariffs, which would “escalate trade tensions across the Atlantic and further jeopardize American companies and hospitality jobs already under duress as a result of COVID-19,” according to a statement.

BBG explains that the strategy employed by the US Trade Rep is known as "carousel retaliation", whereby the industries targeted by tariffs are occasionally shifted to spread the pain around, and inject additional pain due to the "uncertainty" of who will be targeted next.

GOP Shreds Rioters, Democrats In New Video: ‘This Isn’t About Justice, It’s About Destroying America.’

The Republican National Committee (RNC) released a damning new video highlighting the damage that far-left rioters have inflicted across the country in recent weeks and showing how some Democrats have vocally supported calls from the far-left to defund law enforcement.

“Left-wing anarchists are sowing chaos across the country as they attempt to destroy the fundamental foundation of America,” RNC spokesman Steve Guest said. “Meanwhile, Joe Biden and his radical allies continue to dodge scrutiny, viewing this as an opportunity to transform the country. The video features one of the Black Lives Matter co-founders stating that their ideological frame is Marxism, an ideology that has led to the deaths of 100 million people.

The video shows a church in Washington, D.C., that was set on fire by rioters and later features far-left Democrat Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY) and Ilhan (MN) calling for the defunding of law enforcement. Top Democrats like Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi are also featured.

The video also shows members of black community that have been devastated by the violent riots and have had their businesses and livelihoods either uprooted or ruined.

The video comes as rioters have destroyed statues in recent days of former U.S. presidents, including, statues of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and Ulysses S. Grant. Rioters tried to destroy a statue of former President Andrew Jackson before they were stopped by police.

In a stunning decision that could test the legal framework of #MeToo cases, comedian Bill Cosby has won the right to fight his 2018 sexual assault conviction in the Pennsylvania Supreme Court.

The 82-year-old Cosby has been imprisoned in suburban Philadelphia for nearly two years after a jury convicted him of drugging and sexually assaulting a woman at his home in 2004. He's serving a three- to 10-year sentence.

The Supreme Court has agreed to review two aspects of the case, including the judge's decision to let prosecutors call five other accusers to testify about long-ago encounters with the once-powerful actor and comedian.

Windows 10 critical process failure: Microsoft admits June updates are triggering reboots

Forced reboots are affecting some machines running Windows 10 version 1809 and above.

Microsoft has admitted that this month's Windows 10 Patch Tuesday updates are causing more problems, this time resulting in crashes due to a failure in the Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS) file, lsass.exe.

It confirmed the new bug in the KB articles for updates to Windows 10 version 1809 (KB4561608), version 1903 and version 1909 (KB4560960), and version 2004 (KB4557957).

Microsoft also notes that the June 16 out-of-band update – which fixed printers that stopped working after installing the Patch Tuesday updates – is affected by the LSASS failure.

"The Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS) file (lsass.exe) might fail on some devices with the error message, 'A critical system process, C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe, failed with status code c0000008. The machine must now be restarted'," Microsoft explains.

Microsoft says it is working on a fix that will be delivered in a future update. It has not confirmed whether the LSASS issue affects earlier versions of Windows 10.

While the June updates appear to be the cause of the LSASS reboots, Bleeping Computer points to a user report from late May about machines running Windows 10 version 1809 seeing the error code described in Microsoft's known issues.

"Event Viewer Log shows that LSASS.exe crashed on the first boot with error c0000008 and then all services failed to authenticate after, which probably caused the crash," the user wrote.

It's not known when the update will arrive, but Microsoft is restarting its optional non-security update releases – the C and D week releases – in July, after pausing them in March to reduce the load on IT admins during the coronavirus outbreak.

Gallup study: Media rank dead last in public trust

Finding is part of a decades-long decline in popular trust in the media, Gallup's editor-in-chief Mohamed Younis said Tuesday.

n a Gallup public opinion survey released near the beginning of the coronavirus shutdown, eight of the nine institutions studied received majority positive ratings — led by U.S. hospitals, at 88% approval.

The media ranked dead last in the study of Americans' trust in institutions. Only the media got a more negative than positive review. The finding is part of a decades-long decline in popular trust in the media, Gallup's editor-in-chief Mohamed Younis said Tuesday during a virtual panel organized by the U.S. Council on Competitiveness.

Since 2015, Gallup has tracked an increase in divergence between Republicans and Democrats on their attitudes toward the national media, Younis explained.

The current partisan split is "not surprising," given the contentious relationship President Trump, a Republican, has with the current media, Younis said. Still, the deterioration of trust among Republicans has been persisting for decades.

"Just to give you context, when we were polling in the time of President Nixon's impeachment, seven in 10 Americans said they had confidence in the honesty of the media they had access to in the United States," Younis said. "Today, only four in 10 Americans say the same. So there's been a general decline. That decline is most pronounced among Republicans, like I said in the past five years or so. But as of now, 41% of independents approve of the job that media has done in the Covid crisis, which is exactly the national average; 68% of Democrats share that view, and only 16% of Republicans … So there is definitely a partisan angle to that."

J.J. Abrams Creates 20-Page Guide For Dismantling White Supremacy

Director J.J. Abrams (“The Force Awakens”) released a 20-page guideline to his company Bad Robot on ways to combat white supremacy.

Titled “Bad Robot’s Guide to Dismantling White Supremacy at Work,” the guidebook encourages employees to learn about racism in the United States by reading articles and books, watching movies, and following certain (left-wing) black activists to better educate themselves on the subject of race relations.

“At Bad Robot, we are committed to dismantling white supremacy at work & at large. We are following leading academics, activists & artists and have compiled an evolving set of resources that we are sharing with friends and colleagues. Onward!” the company said in a tweet on Tuesday.

The guide divides tasks for people to follow based on the amount of time they have to spare in a day. Fox News breaks it down:

There are sections for people with 5-10 minutes, 30 minutes and 60 minutes. It also has sections full of resources for employees with children as well as managers to help them talk about the topic in a non-problematic way.

People with a small amount of time are encouraged to read articles while people with 30 minutes or so are encouraged to view a collection of videos. People with more than an hour to spare are met with a list of movies to watch like Spike Lee’s “Do The Right Thing,” John Singleton’s “Boyz n the Hood” and Ava DuVernay’s “The 13th” and ”When They See Us.”

Communist propaganda welcomed by Big Tech, but not conservative viewpoints

An investigation run by House Foreign Affairs Committee leader Representative Michael McCaul has revealed that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) is getting away with spreading all kinds of anti-American propaganda on social media even as conservatives are continually targeted with censorship.

What was discovered is that even the most stringent platforms are barely even trying to filter out Chinese misinformation, all the while silencing voices that oppose the LGBTQ indoctrination of innocent children, as one prominent example.

Twitter, as you might expect, was determined to be the worst when it comes to filtering out CCP propaganda and misinformation, including the unsubstantiated claim by Chinese officials that the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) originated in the United States rather than in the Chinese city of Wuhan.

Facebook is also guilty of letting CCP propaganda slide, even while it targets Trump campaign advertising that some left-wing extremists claim contains “Nazi symbols.” This double standard was fully unpacked as part of the investigation, exposing an unprecedented degree of corruption within the Silicon Valley cabal of social media corporations.

While all of the major social media platforms are guilty of this double standard, Twitter is both the worst and the most uncooperative when it comes to rectifying it. Congressional staffers who contributed to the investigation did not beat around the bush in describing Twitter’s blatant rejection of fairness, honesty and transparency.

“Of all the companies we engaged with, Twitter is the platform most heavily abused by the CCP,” the investigators revealed. “Twitter only applied a factcheck label to the Tweet about the virus originating with the U.S. military after it had been on the platform for more than a month.”

“They are the most unwilling to do anything to stop the CCP from spreading harmful misinformation or provide transparency through labels that inform users they are viewing content from a state-funded or state-directed media outlet,” they added.
