"Montgomery County’s Chinese Sister City, Xi’an, has donated 20,000 masks for Montgomery County employees who work on the front lines. The masks were received June 19 and currently are in the Department of General Services warehouse in Gaithersburg. They are being catalogued before they will be distributed.

“This generous donation from our Sister City Xi’an reinforces the importance of diplomacy and international cooperation during these challenging times,” said County Executive Marc Elrich in a press release.

The Xi’an Sister City Committee contacted Montgomery County, according to Elrich."
