Pattern recognition is a skill humans are very bad at and thus manipulated. You can have the highest IQ on earth, and lacking the balance of qualitative intelligence, still be easily manipulated.
Qualitative intelligence (emotional intelligence is an aspect of this) is more valuable in reality, and certainly more useful in spiritual growth.
