Medical directors that were overseeing the nursing home facilities in those states have to adhere to State Licensing laws governing their practice of Medicine. This is to say that anyone who lost a loved one who was placed in a nursing home has the right to file a complaint with the respective licensing board if the medical director did not adhere to laws governing their practice. For example, if the medical director was aware that the facility lacked the resources needed to adequately provide care for the patient , the medical director would have to decline accepting the patient to the facility.
