BLM Co-Founder Opal Tometi Connected to Communist Venezuelan President Maduro

Hamas says annexation of West Bank would be 'DECLARATION OF WAR' that Israel would ‘regret bitterly’

Israel will pay an “unprecedented price” if it goes ahead with plans to annex parts of the West Bank, Hamas has warned, saying the move would be a "declaration of war" on Palestinians.

In an Arabic-language video published on Thursday, Hamas spokesperson Abu Obeida said Israel’s plans were “criminal” and would amount to the “biggest theft of Palestinian land in decades.” He promised that Hamas, the Islamist group which Israel regards as a terrorist organization, will guard the sacred land and its people.

Obeida said the organization does not make many statements, but wanted to state clearly that “the resistance considers this decision a declaration of war on our Palestinian people.” He added that Israel would “regret bitterly” if it continued with the annexation and that “the occupation will pay an unprecedented price.”

Earlier, on Monday, another senior Hamas official said the annexation project should be “confronted with resistance in all forms” and called for unity with the Palestinian Authority, despite divisions between the two. A statement called the annexation plans a “conspiracy woven by the Zionist occupation.”

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu aims to begin a process of annexing parts of the West Bank, where more than 420,000 Jewish settlers live, from July 1, as part of the US’ “vision for peace” initiative. The Palestinians have rejected the plan.

The United Nations recently condemned the decision, calling Netanyahu’s plan “unlawful” and expressed regret at the US’s support of the policy. The EU has also warned of a possible “reprisal” for Israel and said it would work to “discourage any possible initiative toward annexation.”

The companies are only concerned about banning conservative voices.

Advertising agency Goodby Silverstein, owned by the Omnicom Group, has announced that it intends to join the ”#StopHateForProfit” campaign and pull advertising from Facebook next month.

The agency’s clients include the likes of BMW, HP, PayPal, Pepsi, Doritos, and Adobe.

Last week, a group of six organizations, including the Anti-Defamation League, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, Sleeping Giants and Color of Change, called on Facebook advertisers to halt their spending on the social media platform during the month of July. They’re asking large brands “to show they will not support a company that puts profit over safety.”

“We will join #StopHate4Profit and stop posting on @Facebook for the month of July,” Goodby Silverstein said via Twitter.

“We are taking this action to protest the platform’s irresponsible propagation of hate speech, racism, and misleading voter information. We encourage clients and our own people to join us.”

Goodby Silverstein appears to be the first major ad agency to join the campaign. It did not immediately respond to CNBC’s request for confirmation of how much it usually spends on Facebook ads and whether it will also stop advertising on Instagram, which is owned by Facebook.

There clearly was no reason for the mass riots taking place around the country after the death of the individual at the hands of the police in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Daily Caller confirmed this and reported that BLM is not a non-profit organization and nonprofit organization (Thousand Currents) said it provides ‘fiduciary oversight, financial management, and other administrative services to BLM.

A Star-Spangled BAN? Liberal pundit wants ‘racist’ US national anthem replaced

Across the US, symbols that stood for hundreds of years are in the process of being destroyed and erased in the name of progress. Some say the venerable ‘Star Spangled Banner’ is next on the chopping block.

Pundits laughed when rioters in San Francisco toppled a monument to Union General and President Ulysses S. Grant, along with Francis Scott Key, the lyricist behind the US’ national anthem, ‘The Star Spangled Banner.’ Either the vandals were clueless, or as Fox News’ Laura Ingraham tweeted, “they hate America – all of it.”

Ingraham’s tweet may have been closer to the truth. Key’s most famous work, whose stanzas ring out before the Superbowl and at the raising and lowering of military colors, is now up for reappraisal.

In a column on Thursday, Yahoo Journalist Lindsey Parker suggested that it “might be time to finally replace ‘The Star-Spangled Banner’ with a new national anthem.” Citing Key’s support for slavery (he prosecuted abolitionists as a lawyer), she recommended, based on interviews with activists, that the anthem go the way of Aunt Jemima and General Lee, and be consigned to the dustbin of history.

As for a replacement, Parker suggests ‘Lift Every Voice and Sing,’ a gospel number dubbed the “the Negro national hymn” by the NAACP in 1919. John Lennon’s socialist paean ‘Imagine’ was also suggested as a more fitting, woke-ified replacement.

Based on the reactions from conservatives, Parker’s idea is a divisive one.

However, changing the national anthem isn’t just an idea peddled by liberal commenters on opinion pages. Tulsa Athletic, a women’s soccer team from Oklahoma, announced this week that they would replace the anthem with Woody Guthrie’s ‘This Land is Your Land,’ a folk favorite hailed for its progressive message.

A week earlier, former US national men’s soccer coach Bruce Arena called the playing of The Star Spangled Banner before games “inappropriate.

Seattle Sued By Businesses, Residents Over CHOP

Over a dozen businesses, property owners and residents filed a class-action lawsuit against the city of Seattle on Wednesday over the decision to cede a roughly six-block area to BLM protesters, who then established the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) - now known as the Capitol Hill Occupying Protest (CHOP).

Plaintiffs - which include several property management firms, an auto repair shop and a tattoo parlor, say the absence of police, firefighters and ambulances has subjected them to "extensive property damage, public safety dangers, and an inability to use and access their properties."

That said, the plaintiffs want everyone to know that they support Black Lives Matter "who, by exercising such rights, are bringing issues such as systemic racism and unfair violence against African Americans by police to the forefront of the national consciousness."

In short, they support the movement - just not the harms they've suffered as a result of it.

New COVID-19 infections rising, but new deaths flat as younger patients recover

Some public health policy experts fear spreading unfounded alarm about rising infection rates risks deep harm to Americans' livelihoods and mental health due to prolonged, widespread shutdowns.

Even though new coronavirus infections are rising in America and around the world, new coronavirus deaths are largely flat, a trend largely missing from most mainstream media coverage.

Experts say the fact that new coronavirus deaths appear to remain flat is driven by more younger patients getting infected and recovering amid reopenings as the worst of the pandemic passes.

On Wednesday evening, the Washington Post issued a breaking news email alert headlined "New coronavirus cases in the U.S. soar to highest single-day total."

"Across the United States," reported the Post, "more than 36,000 new infections were reported by state health departments on Wednesday — surpassing the previous single-day record of 34,203 set on April 25."

Yet the article failed to mention that even while new infections are on the rise, new COVID-19 deaths are not.

This vital information gap in the media is causing some health policy experts to worry that fear about the coronavirus — evidenced, for example, by Wednesday's sharp stock market drop — is not founded in facts, particularly about how the virus disparately impacts different age groups. The spreading of unfounded alarm, the experts fear, could risk deep harm to Americans' livelihoods and mental health due to a prolonged, widespread shutdown.

The coronavirus has ravaged elderly populations in nursing homes and those with underlying comorbidities, but now the virus appears to be striking those who are younger and healthier and more able to withstand the disease and return to life normally.

Vanderbilt University School of Medicine professor Dr. William Schaffner, who specializes in preventive medicine and infectious diseases, noted in an interview with Just the News that for example, in Florida, reports indicate that it is middle-aged and younger adults now being hit with COVID-19.

Data from Oxford University show that even though the confirmed daily reported COVID-19 cases have been ticking up in the United States in recent days, daily confirmed deaths have not risen.

UK business minister suggests voters who want ‘access’ to govt politicians should attend Tory dinner events, prompting outrage

A UK junior minister provoked anger after suggesting voters can gain “access” to high-level Tories if they attend party fundraiser events, as calls grow for the housing secretary to quit after being lobbied by a billionaire donor.

During an interview on BBC Radio 4’s Today program on Thursday, Nadhim Zahawi – a junior business minister – attempted to defend the actions of the Housing, Communities and Local Government Secretary Robert Jenrick, who has become embroiled in a scandal in recent days.

It concerns a property deal Jenrick sanctioned which helped Richard Desmond – a British billionaire and Tory donor – save millions of pounds, soon after the two sat next to each other at a Conservative fundraiser dinner on November 18, 2019.

Asked why ordinary people are not able to enjoy the same access as rich individuals like Desmond, Zahawi suggested that there’s nothing to stop them from obtaining the privilege.

If people go to a fundraiser in their local area, Doncaster, for the Conservative Party, they’ll be sitting next to MPs, other people in their local authority.

Google Promises Less Spying on Users’ Web Browsing, Locations

Google has promised to change the default settings on its services to store less user browser history and location data on its servers. The default setting will only apply to new users — existing users will need to change the settings themselves.

NBC News reports that Google CEO Sundar Pichai announced in a recent blog post that the web giant would be changing the default options on its services, claiming that users’ browsing history and location data would only be stored on Google’s servers for 18 months.

Currently, users have to specifically state that they want their activity data to be deleted by Google, according to Pichai, the firm’s new default options will mean that users’ data is continuously being stored and deleted. “This means your activity data will be automatically and continuously deleted after 18 months, rather than kept until you choose to delete it,” Pichai said.

No changes will be made to existing Google accounts and users who have already turned on their location history in Google settings, but the firm plans to inform existing users of the new option to set up auto-deletion of their data after three to 18 months. Users’ can also opt to have none of their data history stored whatsoever.

The decision from Google comes as many grow wary of Silicon Valley tech giants growing control over user personal data, which Google uses to fuel its extremely lucrative advertising business by allowing advertisers to better target their ads towards consumers based on their personal data.

Privacy advocates have criticized Google for some time for collecting and storing data for much longer than is necessary to operate its services. Breitbart News reported last week that a spyware attack targeted users of Google’s Chrome web browser via browser extensions which received 32 million downloads. Google stated that it removed more than 70 malicious extensions from its Chrome Web Store after researchers at Awake Security alerted them to the issue.

GOP Lawmaker Forces DOJ Whistleblower To Admit He Sought Job With Democrats During Trump Impeachment

A Justice Department official turned whistleblower appeared caught off-guard Wednesday when Republican Rep. Doug Collins pressed him in a House Judiciary Committee hearing about his efforts in 2019 to work for House Democrats during the Trump impeachment saga.

John Elias, a chief of staff to the Justice Department’s assistant attorney general in the antitrust division, reluctantly conceded at the hearing that he sought a position on the Democratic side of the House Judiciary Committee.

Elias was one of three witnesses who accused Attorney General William Barr of abuse of his authority at the Judiciary hearing.

Elias alleged that Barr improperly ordered investigations into mergers of 10 small cannabis companies. He testified that he submitted a complaint to the Justice Department’s inspector general.

During his round of questioning, Collins sought to portray Elias as having political motivations in blowing the whistle on Barr.

The Georgia Republican began his line of questioning by asking Elias if he considers himself to be nonpartisan.

“When I go into the Justice Department every day as a career employee, I leave my politics at home,” Elias said.

“Did you ever attempt to get detailed to this committee’s majority staff?” Collins asked.

Elias appeared unprepared for the question, replying after a brief pause: “I, like people, over time have explored various career options.”

He then told Collins that he had a “very preliminary conversation” with Democrats about a job on the Judiciary panel.

Melinda Gates: ‘Black People, Indigenous People’ Should Get Coronavirus Vaccine First

Bill Gates’ wife, Melinda, said last week during a virtual Forbes philanthropy summit with her husband that “black people” and “indigenous people” should receive the coronavirus vaccine first, if they are in the healthcare field.

“One of the reasons we are so involved in this is that you don’t want the first vaccines to go to the highest-bidding countries,” Melinda Gates said. “There are 60 million healthcare workers. They deserve to get the vaccine first, they’re the ones dealing with this on the front lines, trying to keep us all safe.”

Gates then went on to explain who in the healthcare industry should receive the vaccine first.

“Then you have to start to tier from there, based on the countries and the populations,” Gates continued. “Here in the United States, it’s going to be black people who really should get it first and many indigenous people, as well as people with underlying symptoms, and then elderly people.”

Since nearly the beginning of the pandemic, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has lent financial support to finding a vaccine for COVID-19. They have donated to Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, which the foundation claims will work to pay for and distribute doses of the vaccine to countries of low-income.

Bill Gates commented on a few prospective vaccines, which are made by Moderna, AstraZeneca, and Johnson & Johnson. He also accused the U.S. government of evading “global problem-solving” and “just trying to cast blame” with its withdrawal from the World Health Organization (WHO).

“Usually the United States plays a role in global problem-solving, so rather than withdrawing from WHO, they’d be involved, collaborating with other countries, not just trying to cast blame,” Gates said.

In a Thursday interview on CNN’s “New Day,” New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) criticized how politicized the coronavirus has become and had a message for Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) in their ongoing feud.

“New Day” host Alisyn Camerota asked Cuomo about the surge of coronavirus cases in Florida after reopening the state.

After emphasizing how the state of New York has flattened the curve, Cuomo advised DeSantis that he “played politics” with the virus and “lost.”

“I say to them all look at the numbers,” Cuomo stated. “You played politics with this virus and you lost. You told the people of your state and you told the people of this country, White House, don’t worry about it, just open up, go about your business, this is all democratic hyperbole. Oh, really? Now you see 27 states with the numbers going up. You see the death projections going up. You see the economy going down. It was never politics. It was always science. And they were in denial, and denial is not a life strategy.”

Former Labour Leadership Contender Fired for Sharing Antisemitic Article

Labour Party leader Sir Keir Starmer has fired his former rival Rebecca Long-Bailey from the Shadow Cabinet after she had shared an article containing an “antisemitic” conspiracy theory.

The Labour Party confirmed that Ms Long-Bailey had been removed from her position as Shadow Secretary of State for Education.

A spokesman told the BBC: “This afternoon Keir Starmer asked Rebecca Long-Bailey to step down from the shadow cabinet.

“The article Rebecca shared earlier today contained an antisemitic conspiracy theory.

“As leader of the Labour Party, Keir has been clear that restoring trust with the Jewish community is a number one priority. Antisemitism takes many different forms, and it is important that we all are vigilant against it.”

Socialist Long-Bailey, who had been groomed by the far-left pressure group Momentum to replace Jeremy Corbyn, had retweeted an interview with actress and Labour supporter Maxine Peake. The Dinnerladies and Shameless star had claimed that police responsible for the death of black America George Floyd had received training from “Israeli secret services”.

In her retweet Maxine Peake’s interview with the left-progressive Independent, the far-leftist politician called the actress “an absolute diamond”.

The Independent article had quoted Ms Peake as saying:

“The tactics used by the police in America, kneeling on George Floyd’s neck, that was learnt from seminars with Israeli secret services.

Followed by:

(A spokesperson for the Israeli police has denied this, stating that ‘there is no tactic or protocol that calls to put pressure on the neck or airway’.)

The online news site, which shuttered its paper edition in 2016 after declining readership, issued an update on Thursday, saying:

This article has been amended to further clarify that the allegation that US police were taught tactics of “neck kneeling” by Israeli secret services is unfounded. The original version did carry a denial from Israeli police, however we are happy to further clarify the matter.

Long-Bailey, who voters in a poll had described as “Jeremy [Corbyn] in a skirt”, later said that her retweet did not intend “to endorse every part of that article”.

The Board of Deputies of British Jews responded to the issue, saying on Thursday: “We are very concerned to see the Shadow Education Secretary praising the words of someone repeating the conspiracy theory that Israel was responsible for the death of George Floyd. This will not reassure those hoping the years of Labour indulging such conspiracies were over.”

Liberal centrist Sir Keir, who won the party leadership race in April, is now in charge of a party that has been plagued by accusations of antisemitism since Socialist Corbyn took over the left-wing party in 2015. London: ‘Hostile’ Crowd Attacks Police, 22 Officers Injured During What Media Called a ‘Street Party’

A “hostile” crowd attacked London police with pieces of wood — and one apparently armed with a sword — after officers were called out to reports of violence at a “large” illegal gathering. The thugs then reportedly drove the unarmed officers off of Brixton’s lawless streets.

Scotland Yard confirmed on Thursday that they had responded to several calls from the public of the illegal event in Overton Road, including reports of “anti-social behaviour” and violence” in the Brixton streets. The unrest is believed to have begun on Wednesday afternoon and ran into the small hours of the following morning.

Large gatherings are still illegal under current coronavirus lockdown laws, and there have been reports of fatal shootings, stabbings, rapes, and suspected drug overdoses at alleged ‘quarantine raves’ in Manchester.

The Met said that officers attempted “to encourage the crowd” to disperse last evening, but “they did not engage with police”. Reinforcements arrived, and the group then became “hostile” towards police, leading to 22 officers being injured and police cars being damaged. Thankfully, none of the officers was seriously injured, but two required hospital attention.

Video of the ensuing riots and violence against police circulated on social media, some getting picked up by the mainstream media. One Tweet-embedded video whose photographer claims to show rioters running police out of the area was even retweeted by UK Home Secretary Priti Patel. The crowd is seen throwing objects and hitting retreating police vehicles with pieces of wood.

Biden’s Camp Bans Local Media From PA Event While Biden is Speaking, Only Fake News ‘National Outlets’ Allowed

Joe Biden is speaking at an event in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on Thursday at 2:45 local time.

According to Biden’s campaign, the 2020 Democrat presumptive nominee will meet with families to discuss the ‘Affordable Care Act.’

But local media is banned.

Biden’s camp is not giving access to local media reporters.

Ty Lohr, a journalist for Lancaster Online said he is not allowed inside the building while Biden is speaking.

“Only national outlets. When I asked why, I was told “space restrictions.” Disheartening to know that local media isn’t allowed to fully cover this event inside and out.” Ty Lohr said.

So who’s allowed to cover Biden’s event?

According to Ty Lohr, fake news outlets such as the New York Times, CNN, ABC, NBC and the Daily Beast are allowed inside the building.

Basically, all fake news outlets who are Biden’s allies are allowed to cover the event.

Two Kids Sue Google for Allegedly Collecting Students’ Biometric Data with Their Educational Tools

Google is well known already for collecting data on customers with their products and services. This is sometimes referred to as “Surveillance Capitalism” and many businesses do it whether customers are aware of it or not.

Creepy indeed. Tech use by kids in and out of schools may now be the “new normal”. However, tech insiders (Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, etc.) and other Silicon Valley parents have been taking expensive and sometimes drastic measures to keep it away from their kids ALL ALONG. Public school systems keep pushing tech in the curriculums anyway. Now 2 kids are striking back about alleged involuntary data collection by Google while using the company’s educational tools.

The lawsuit says the search giant violated privacy laws with its educational tools.

Two children from Illinois are suing Google for allegedly collecting biometric data, including face scans, of millions of students through the search giant’s software tools for classrooms.

The lawsuit, filed Thursday in a federal court in San Jose, California, is seeking class-action status. The children, known only as H.K. and J.C. in the complaint, are suing through their father, Clinton Farwell.

Google is using its services to create face templates and “voiceprints” of children, the complaint says, through a program in which the search giant provides school districts across the country with Chromebooks and free access to G Suite for Education apps. Those apps include student versions of Gmail, Calendar and Google Docs.

The data collection would likely violate Illinois’ Biometric Information Privacy Act, or BIPA, which regulates facial recognition, fingerprinting and other biometric technologies in the state. The practice would also likely run afoul of the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act, or COPPA, a federal law that requires sites to get parental consent when collecting personal information from users who are under 13 years old.

On a related note, Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF) is seeking data collection horror stories to stop the Fitbit-Google merger.

Catholic church in Detroit fires lesbian music director who is married to a woman by invoking its 'morality clause' - which is not affected by last week's Supreme Court gay rights ruling

A Catholic church in Detroit has fired its music director after someone learned that she was married to a woman, and urged the executives to invoke the church's 'morality clause'.

Terry Gonda, 59, found out on Wednesday that she was being fired from her job of 30 years for her relationship.

Last week the Supreme Court ruled that the landmark 1964 Civil Rights Act, which prohibits discrimination due to gender, also applies to sexual orientation.

However, religious organizations are considered exempt and have historically been granted immunity from lawsuits due to separation of church and state.

Gonda married Kirsti Reeve, 51, whom she met in 1994 during a trip to England, in 2011. Reeve moved to the U.S. and converted to Catholicism for Gonda.

'It's a shot to the head from headquarters,' Gonda told the Detroit Free Press.

'The dehumanization of this is just not right.'

The church, St John Fisher in Auburn Hills, made no secret of why she was being fired.

'I received a call from the Human Resource director for the Archdiocese in response to a communication the diocese received regarding your marital status,' wrote Monsignor Michael LeFevre, the pastor of the church, in a June 12 email.

'When asked, I confirmed that you and Kirsti had informed me of your marital status some five years ago; now the Archdiocese is choosing to activate its morality clause to terminate your employment.'

She was summoned to a meeting on Wednesday and officially terminated.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approves A LOT of prescriptions and products that are eventually proven to be harmful. Sometimes catastrophically harmful. So should we be concerned about them being in charge of approving an under-the-skin biosensor to detect symptoms like those found with Covid-19?

A Military-Funded Biosensor Could Be the Future of Pandemic Detection

If it wins FDA approval next year, the two-part sensor could help spot new infections weeks before symptoms begin to show.

Why are pandemics so hard to stop? Often it’s because the disease moves faster than people can be tested for it. The Defense Department is helping to fund a new study to determine whether an under-the-skin biosensor can help trackers keep up — by detecting flu-like infections even before their symptoms begin to show. Its maker, Profusa, says the sensor is on track to try for FDA approval by early next year.

The sensor has two parts. One is a 3mm string of hydrogel, a material whose network of polymer chains is used in some contact lenses and other implants. Inserted under the skin with a syringe, the string includes a specially engineered molecule that sends a fluorescent signal outside of the body when the body begins to fight an infection. The other part is an electronic component attached to the skin. It sends light through the skin, detects the fluorescent signal and generates another signal that the wearer can send to a doctor, website, etc. It’s like a blood lab on the skin that can pick up the body’s response to illness before the presence of other symptoms, like coughing.

The announcement comes as the United States grapples with COVID-19, a respiratory illness that can present in flu-like symptoms such as coughing and shortness of breath. The military is taking a leading role in vaccine research, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Mark Milley told reporters at the Pentagon on Monday. “Our military research labs are working feverishly around the horn here to try to come up with a vaccine. So we’ll see how that develops over the next couple of months,” Milley said. U.S. troops themselves are also at risk. A U.S. soldier in South Korea became the first U.S. service member to contract the virus, the Wall Street Journal reported in February.

Profusa’s newest funded study, which the company announced on Tuesday, will test how well the sensor can detect influenza outbreaks up to three weeks before it’s possible to detect them using current methods. Because the gel doesn’t actually emit any signal, it wouldn’t give away a soldier’s position, so the sensor could be used in sensitive settings like behind enemy lines, Profusa CEO Ben Hwang said.

Hwang said his company has received grants from the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, or DARPA, since around 2011. “They gave us grant money to help our research and as we prove out a certain milestone, as we de-risk the technology, they give us a second phrase and a third phase and provide support,” he said. “Their support has transitioned from grants into these types of programs that create real-world evidence.”

Hwang said DARPA is helping the company reach out to other outfits within the Defense Department that might use the device on troops or servicemembers. That could include partnerships with U.S. Special Operations Command, for instance, or, Indo-Pacific Command. He declined to comment on conversations with specific military customers.

Minneapolis brothers, 29 and 26, are charged with burglary for 'live-streaming themselves breaking into a burning police precinct amid George Floyd unrest, where they ripped the walls, broke into a locked desk and stole a cell phone charger'

Two Minneapolis brothers have been charged with breaking into the Minneapolis Police Department’s Third Precinct building after it was set ablaze in destructive protests and riots in the wake of George Floyd’s death.

Brothers Rory, 29, and Trevor Amsler, 26, broke into the precinct after cops abandoned the building and it was set alight on May 28 in protest of police brutality.

Rory Amsler shared a Facebook Live video on May 29 from inside the building allegedly showing himself and his brother rip the walls, throw items out the window, and break into closed drawers and a storage closer.

In the clip they allegedly steal a flashlight charger they thought was a rifle scope and a phone charger.

Corporations have profits only in terms of what they “can engineer on their cash desks,” says Max. “Car companies in America stopped making money from making cars. Now they make money leasing vehicles, then they take the income from those leases and build derivatives portfolios and Ponzi schemes, and then the executives buy back their own stocks… and then they all become billionaires somehow magically.” And that happens even though those car companies were losing money and losing their market share, he explains.

“Every single corporation in America pretty much just doesn’t do what it says it does. They’re gaming the system by giving you free cash from the Fed, if you’re part of the privileged class…”

The S&P 500 is just a front for money-laundering, according to Max. “So, the entire American economy is just a facade for money-laundering at this point,” he says.

Stacy agrees. “It’s a faсade for money-printing… We just print money, and the Chinese, Asians and Europeans send us their goods for our printed money. There’s simply been a faсade of having to work.”

Wild Ride to Nowhere Since Jan 2018: What the US Stock Market Looks Like Minus APPL, MSFT, AMZN, GOOG, FB

Entire market of 3,451 stocks minus “Giant 5” is down 1% from Jan 2018. But wow, the volatility! You would have been better off with a despicable freaking savings account.

The market capitalization of the five largest stocks combined – the “Giant 5:” Apple, Microsoft, Amazon, Alphabet, and Facebook – rose to a new record today of $6.18 trillion. Since their combined low point on March 16, their market capitalization has soared by 51%. That’s an increase of $2.1 trillion in a little over three months. Since January 2017, my Giant 5 index has soared by 164% (market cap data via YCharts):

So how big did they get?

The overall stock market capitalization, as measured by the Wilshire 5000 Market Cap Index tracking 3,451 US-listed companies, ticked up to $31.8 trillion, up by 41.6% from its low on March 23.

Today, the “Giant 5” accounted for 19.4% of the total US stock market capitalization, as measured by the Wilshire 5000, a new record. On January 3, 2017, the Giant 5 had accounted for 10% of the Wilshire 5000. In the three months since the crash in March, the share of the Giant 5 has soared from abound 16% to 19.4% today (Wilshire 5000 data via YCharts):

Let’s take the five largest stocks out of the largest stock market in the world, with 3,451 companies, and see what’s left over. What’s left over is now valued at $25.7 trillion. It’s up by 28.4% from the March 23 low, and while that’s till strong for a three-month rally, it’s a far cry from the 51% for the Giant 5.

And here is the thing: All these companies combined, minus the “Giant 5,” are way below their peak in February 2020, and below a whole bunch of other dates before then, and below where they’d first been in at the end of January 2018.

For the entire rest of the stock market – all its winners and losers combined – minus the “Giant 5” the period since January 2018 was a very rough and unpleasant ride to nowhere. It declined 1%. You would have been better off putting your money in one of those despicable freaking savings accounts:

A new GOP bill would give each taxpayer $4,000 to take a vacation anywhere in the US through the end of 2021.

A new bill from GOP Sen. Martha McSally would encourage people to travel around the US by effectively paying them $4,000.

The nonrefundable tax credit could be applied through the end of 2021, and the trip must be 50 miles beyond a person’s “principal residence.”

But experts said low-income people would likely be left out of the plan.

Others said it may not be a good idea to encourage travel during a pandemic.

A new Republican bill would give each American $4,000 to take a vacation anywhere in the US through the end of next year.

Sen. Martha McSally unveiled the proposal on Monday, called the American Tax Rebate and Incentive Program Act, or the American TRIP Act. It would give each person a tax credit, meaning they would have to apply to write off up to $4,000 in travel-related expenses in tax forms.

That threshold would be doubled to $8,000 for couples and add $500 per child for all travel within the US to cover food, drinks, lodging, live entertainment, and transportation, including airfare and car rentals.
