For anons who have the time for some nice reading, this is, I think, one of the most critical works to understand the development of modern politics as an outgrowth of 18th century Enlightenment ideology. While not a perfect narrative, it bites off quite a bit of the picture and explores the occult/masonic impetus of historical events, tracing the development from the French Revolution all the way to the Bolsheviks.
Not necessary to understand what's going on before our very eyes, but helpful for the interested student of history.
