Hmmm… the book of Matthew does suggest oaths are not in keeping with God. And we know the satanists swear an oath. Then again Matthew might have been suggesting that only "oaths taken in vain" (i.e., lies) are the real sin. Aren't we really only swearing to love and uphold God, and that's the ONLY oath? Every other oath is sort of just an earthly commitment in fulfilling the one solemn oath to serve God? Biblical interpretation is hard.
