Chief executive Mark Zuckerberg said Facebook will start labeling posts it deems newsworthy but that also violates its policies, marking a major about-turn from the company's previous hands-off stance.
In a town hall that was streamed live Friday, Zuckerberg said the company will also remove content that incites violence or attempts to suppress voting - no matter who says it.
"There are no exceptions for politicians in any of the policies that I'm announcing today," he said.
