Don't know what this is from and why we are trying to decide… But. Nonetheless.

26 letters in the alphabet. To number through 26 with Roman numerals, you only need 3 symbols. I, v, and X…

The I'd would be the most frequently used. Then V's and last X's.

So… Red would be the I's, pink would be V's, and X would be the dark red.

Now figure out if they're numbered left to write like lines of text or in columns.

Anybody?

So Roman numerals wouldn't be as I said. There are 36 incidents of I in the numbers 1-26… 13 incidents of V… And 26 incidents of X.

Obviously the prevalence of vowels and more frequently used consenants could change their frequencies…

The picture has 74 red squares, 30 pink, and 16 dark red.

So dark red would be a Roman numeral V, pink would be X, and red would be I

I'm phonefagging so I can't put the corresponding letters over each square. Anybody have a quick minute to overlay the corresponding letters over the boxes. Quick visual would help rule out Roman numerals as an option

I's on the red, X's on the pink, and V's on dark red
