The development comes as a host of private companies, including Apple, Lockheed Martin and Siemens have joined a Trump administration initiative geared toward promoting multiple education and training pathways, likely benefiting those who did not attend university.
Ivanka Trump has announced the penning of a new Executive Order (EO) in hiring for federal government jobs that will privilege skill sets over university degrees.
Ivanka- who doubles up as an advisor to her father, President Trump - has said that the new policy would make room for the “talents and competencies of all Americans” to be considered for federal employment and will ensure that government agencies move beyond “outdated degree requirements” in the hiring process.

US Gulf Coast crude oil gets its own benchmark
S&P Global Platts and Argus Media will launch new benchmarks for pricing US crude oil that is being exported to replace the West Texas Intermediate benchmark.
WTI serves as a basis, but it is, in fact, linked to oil delivered to the Cushing, Oklahoma, storage hub.
Reuters reports that oil shipments from the US Gulf Coast are only quoted as a premium or discount to West Texas Intermediate, based on crudes produced in Texas, Louisiana, and North Dakota. Yet Cushing has declined in importance thanks to the shale oil boom, which has made the United States an exporter of crude once again.
“Traders will now have the option of a new benchmark that will represent the totality of the Gulf Coast market,” the head of Americas at Argus Media, Euan Craik, told Reuters.

Israeli forces launch massive attack on Gaza
BEIRUT, LEBANON (1:00 A.M.) – The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) launched a big assault over the Gaza Strip, hitting several areas, including Khan Younis.
According to Palestinian activists, the Israeli Defense Forces primarily used heavy artillery and airstrikes to hammer the southern part of the Gaza Strip, with the main focus being the Khan Younis region.
Furthermore, local media said that an Israeli warplane bombed east of the city of Deir al-Balah, without causing any injuries or damage to the place.
Israeli artillery bombarded another site with two rocket-propelled grenades east of Gaza City, where it was found that the shelling targeted a monitoring post of Hamas.
In a related context, the Israeli Iron Dome system monitored Friday evening the launch of two rockets from the Gaza Strip towards Israel.
Israeli Channel 13 reported that “the two rockets landed, one in an uninhabited area on the Israeli side of the border, while the other landed inside the strip.”

Saudi Coast Guard opens fire on Iranian fishing boats: report
BEIRUT, LEBANON (12:30 A.M.) – On Friday, a military commander in the Iranian Navy said that the Saudi Coast Guard fired at Iranian fishermen who crossed the maritime boundary.
The military commander added that the initial reports do not indicate any injuries.
Saudi Arabia has always been accusing the Iranian authorities of posing a threat to international peace and security, stressing the “need to tackle the danger” resulting from Tehran’s policies.
In the latest escalation between the two parties, the Saudi ambassador to Austria and the governor of the Kingdom to the International Atomic Energy Agency, Prince Abdullah bin Khalid, said at a meeting of the organization on Tuesday:

Cities AND countries have taken action to ban, delay, halt, and limit 5G installation as well as issue moratoriums due to severe health and safety warnings (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10. 11, 12). In fact, the majority of scientists worldwide oppose deployment until studies prove it’s safe. Of course, proving it’s safe is unlikely to happen any time soon since there are already studies that prove it’s NOT SAFE.
Opposition to 5G is worldwide. Many in Australia have been protesting deployment and continue to do so. One municipal council has agreed to conduct a safety investigation because of this.
