The fire victim, Todd Brassner, was an art dealer and collector. The art world makes the perfect venue for money laundering. Buy a painting that could have been made by your three year old with finger paints at the local art gallery. To get paid for some illegal service, your employer would "buy" your masterpiece for millions, after the previously unknown artist suddenly had been "discovered", raising the price of your masterpiece thru the roof. You report the income as appreciation on your brilliant purchase of the rising artist of whom others had not realized the potential. Makes you wonder about that barely known pair of artists that did the Obama portraits. Bet their works are suddenly valuable, too. It might be interesting to do more research into paintings that the Trump Tower resident had bought and sold in the last few years. Follow the money. There could be other reasons for the fire, but maybe it was a bonus to dispose of a previously useful art dealer who was now, perhaps, a liability?
