Anon, thank you for this. I was looking at the Texas site for fatalities stats to see what is going on. Is the number 2,366 correct in terms of all fatalities from COVID? I mean, we had 11,000 deaths in the state during the 2017-18 flu season (a previous notable I posted). Or am I missing something?

Did anyone ever get to the bottom of the "XXX new cases" search fuckery?

Thanks for that, neighbor. I can't believe this. I'm getting calls/texts/emails from people, "Are you alright, I heard there is a huge second wave in Texasโ€ฆ" I"m like, what? The Lt. Gov. said no problem with availability of ICU beds. I see this death count and I'm like, okay, not great, but compared to 2017 when we were all sick as dogs. BUT NO ONE STOPPED THE WORLD as a result! We got through it and took a sick week.

This has to be reconciled somehow to a point where we are getting real info. I can't believe what a clusterfuck this thing has been. Well, I can believe it, I'm just pissed off.

Exactly. And I've come to believe the mask fiasco is actually an evil plot so we won't smile at each other, lol.

A gal at Trader Joe's (McKinney) was wearing something like these Bauer shields (her's attaches with glasses). It was greatโ€ฆ she winked at me because we both know she is fooling folks since it doesn't form any type of seal around the nose and mouth, lol. But at least we can see her smile again.

I think this is the way to go if they mandate masks here (I hope not).

Okay, that might explain it, thank you for replying because I think this is a big deal and I've talked to several people about it who couldn't figure it out either except that it might have to do with ad-servers and AI writing news articles for a large number of syndicated news stories. But to have that number of individual articles written seems suspect to me. Did you check the python script that this person ran?

A Twitter user (Sarpedon @mrx250) claims it is impossible for there to be an instance of a news story for every number in a loop. They ran a simple Google search query script for 1,200 iterations of results in COVID-19 cases to demonstrate how every Google search link has the query number.

Apparently the search results stop showing actual numbers after 100,000 so its not infinite. Thoughts?
