But just makes no sense in this era of uber information with one click.

The way the Amish treat their animals does not support this argument.
Tho it should make sense practically it does not apply to many of the Amish.
They can be very brutal and inhumane to their animals.

but even without the puppymill stuff… all the Amish have multiple horses, buggy horses, mules for hitching and clydesdales for heavy work. Goats Sheep Fowl Rabbits Dogs etc.
Neighbors have adopted animals very mistreated by Amish here. If they are not workable, they are discarded and left to fend for themselves. Very cold.
