Open Source systems that will replace Twitter with a federated system of servers which any group can run. The servers will interconnect using the IETF's XMPP protocols.
It might be based on the Jabberd2 project…

Or it might be based on ejabberd…

The end result will be that services like Parler and Gab will interconnect and function as one big Instant Message broadcast network, This is what was evolving before Twitter came along with a huge pile of cash and marketing to get everyone to use a system based on a central server. Because tweets have to pass through a central server system controlled by Twitter, they are able to control the comms.
In an XMPP federation, there is no central server, no chokepoint where someone can control the comms.
Project Odin is a different sort of thing designed to resist DOSS attacks. It could be used by an organization whose messaging server is at risk and still interconnect with the rest of the XMPP federation.
Or this could involve pump.io social media servers as well.
