I think the United States has many real estate problems right now. We have WAY too much retail space per capita, and too much debt on it. Our schools and such are funded with local property taxes and are thus dependent upon property values remaining high…even if they aren't really worth all that much. Because of the destruction of large nuclear families many Americans are living in smaller groupings and (at least in my area) houses continue to be built, but with failing demographics real estate values, imo, really should start to fall. Tax assessors may not like it, but that is okay. Putting government funded schools out of business could only be good as they are little more than ultra-liberal, marxist indoctrination centers. I say return most property taxes to voters and let them fund their own children's educations…privately or at home. Back in the day I could teach a child to read in 100 days with a book called Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons. Easy peasy.. at the end of the 100 days the child is reading at a solid second grade level.
