A federal judge in Los Angeles resigned as chief judge after using the ‘racist’ term “street smart” to describe a black court official.

Now the Marxists have decided that the term “street smart” is somehow offensive and racist.

U.S. District Judge Cormac J. Carney made the announcement he will be stepping down in an email and said he apologized to the black woman he offended.

The chief judge of the Central District of California, which includes Los Angeles, has resigned over racially charged comments about a Black court official.

U.S. District Judge Cormac J. Carney made the announcement in an e-mail and says he has apologized to the woman, Kiry K. Gray. But he says he knows that will not put the matter to rest.

“There will be division in the Court, unnecessary, negative and hurtful publicity, and a diversion from the Court’s essential mission of administering justice if I were to continue serving as the Chief District Judge,” Carney said in an e-mail obtained by Eyewitness News. “I cannot allow the Court to become politicized and embroiled in controversy.”

Gray has served as a federal court employee for 35 years.

Carney will remain a federal judge, but another jurist will take over the duties of chief district judge. Carney had just started a four-year term June 1.

The judge not only resigned, he groveled to the Marxist outrage mob.

“This term was one of many words I used to recognize and compliment Ms. Gray regarding her work on the Court Reopening Plan,” Judge Carney explained. “Please know that I had no intent to offend Ms. Gray or anyone else by my use of the term. To me, the term means a person of great common sense, initiative, and ability to work with people and get things done. It saddened me greatly to learn that some people view the term to be demeaning to people of color.”

Social Credit Score Is In America: Visa Blacklisted My Business and My Family for Building Gab

As many of you already know we learned last week that Visa blacklisted Gab and we are now unable to process credit and debit card transactions. We learned more information this week and I think it’s important that I share it as a warning for others.

It’s not just Gab that is blacklisted. It’s also my family.

In China there is something called the Social Credit System, which was developed by the Communist Chinese Party as a “national reputation system.” This system tracks the “trustworthiness” of individuals, businesses, and organizations. “Trustworthiness” here means total and complete submission to the Chinese Communist Party. If the Communist Party deems you to be untrustworthy, you are denied access to plane tickets, train tickets, opening and operating businesses, and more.

As of June 2019, according to the National Development and Reform Commission of China, 26.82 million air tickets as well as 5.96 million high-speed rail tickets have been denied to people who were deemed “untrustworthy (失信)” (on a blacklist), and 4.37 million “untrustworthy” people have chosen to fulfill their duties required by the law.

To most Americans this sounds horrifying, and it is. I now know from first-hand experience because this social credit system exists in the United States. While it may not be sanctioned by the United States government, it most certainly has been deployed by US corporations who today have in many ways more power, data, and control over our lives than our government does. Many of these corporations also happen to be endorsing and raising money for communist organizations, revolutionaries, and the domestic terrorists burning down our cities.

We were told this week that not only is Gab blacklisted by Visa as a business, but my personal name, phone number, address, and more are all also blacklisted by Visa. If I wanted to leave Gab tomorrow (something that isn’t going to happen) and start a lemonade stand I wouldn’t be able to obtain merchant processing for it.

Simply because my name is Andrew Torba.

If my wife wants to start a business she won’t be able to obtain merchant processing because she lives at the same address as me and would be flagged by Visa.

This is obviously very concerning. We have done nothing wrong. Gab is and always has been a legally operated business. We sell hats, shirts, and a software subscription service that unlocks new features on Gab. My personal credit score is in the 800’s. I pay my bills. I have a wife and daughter to provide for, yet we are all being punished and defamed because someone at Visa has it out for me.

We were told that Visa has someone camping on our website watching our payment processing. As soon as we get a new processor up they find out who it is on their end and contact them. They tell the processor that Gab is flagged for “illegal activity” and if they do not stop processing payments for us they will be heavily fined.

When the processor inquires about this alleged “illegal activity,” Visa tells them that Gab has been flagged for “hate speech.” “Hate speech,” is of course not illegal in the United States of America and is protected by the First Amendment. As I have written, it’s not real and I refuse to acknowledge it as term. Visa doesn’t agree with me.

The reason I share all of this is that I hope it serves as a wakeup call and as a warning. If they can do this to me, they can do it to you and they likely will.

Christians need to be especially concerned and aware of this. The Communist revolutionaries taking over the United States are coming for us all. It’s only a matter of time before the Bible is labeled as “hate speech” and churches start to experience what I am going through right now.

Cluster of COVID-19 Cases in US Troops Emerges at Kuwaiti Air Base

A Middle East air base where U.S. troops operate alongside Kuwaiti counterparts is experiencing a new cluster of COVID-19 cases, Military.com has learned.

While the exact number is unknown, around 30 U.S. personnel have come down with the novel coronavirus in recent weeks at Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base, according to a defense official.

The base primarily houses airmen, with U.S. Air Forces Central Command's 332d Air Expeditionary Wing and subsidiary units operating from the base. Forces from the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing at nearby Ali Al Salem Air Base also routinely rotate through the base for exercises and other missions, according to the Air Force.

"While we will not release specific COVID-19 numbers, we can confirm that there is a cluster of cases currently on [al-Jaber], an air base in Kuwait that houses a number of U.S. Central Command personnel," a CENTCOM official said in a statement. "This cluster developed over time, and we believe social distancing and contact tracing measures has limited the size of that cluster."

The command said the COVID-19 cases have not impacted day-to-day operations at the base; troops are being urged to adhere to Centers for Disease Control guidelines, such as frequent hand-washing, social distancing, and wearing masks when social distancing is not possible, CENTCOM said.

"Our top priority, first and foremost, is the health and welfare of our personnel," the command said. "Any individual who shows possible COVID-19 symptoms or who tests positive for the virus immediately receives the best possible medical care, and that care continues for as long as necessary."

In late February. U.S. troops stationed in the Middle East were temporarily banned from any travel, including leave or liberty travel to nearby countries, to prevent further transmission of the virus. The Pentagon then implemented a global stop-movement order that took effect March 13.

Military deployments and redeployments, largely halted by the stop-move order, resumed on a case-by-case basis in mid-April. The travel ban is in effect through June 30.

The 407th Expeditionary Support Squadron in April constructed an outdoor dining facility at al-Jaber, known as "the Sandstorm Field Kitchen," to better space out personnel within dining areas.

Kosovo Indictment Proves Bill Clinton’s Serbian War Atrocities

President Bill Clinton’s favorite freedom fighter just got indicted for mass murder, torture, kidnapping, and other crimes against humanity. In 1999, the Clinton administration launched a 78-day bombing campaign that killed up to 1500 civilians in Serbia and Kosovo in what the American media proudly portrayed as a crusade against ethnic bias. That war, like most of the pretenses of U.S. foreign policy, was always a sham.

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci was charged with ten counts of war crimes and crimes against humanity by an international tribunal in The Hague in the Netherlands. It charged Thaci and nine other men with “war crimes, including murder, enforced disappearance of persons, persecution, and torture.” Thaci and the other charged suspects were accused of being “criminally responsible for nearly 100 murders” and the indictment involved “hundreds of known victims of Kosovo Albanian, Serb, Roma, and other ethnicities and include political opponents.”

Hashim Thaci’s tawdry career illustrates how anti-terrorism is a flag of convenience for Washington policymakers. Prior to becoming Kosovo’s president, Thaci was the head of the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA), fighting to force Serbs out of Kosovo. In 1999, the Clinton administration designated the KLA as “freedom fighters” despite their horrific past and gave them massive aid. The previous year, the State Department condemned “terrorist action by the so-called Kosovo Liberation Army.” The KLA was heavily involved in drug trafficking and had close to ties to Osama bin Laden.

But arming the KLA and bombing Serbia helped Clinton portray himself as a crusader against injustice and shift public attention after his impeachment trial. Clinton was aided by many shameless members of Congress anxious to sanctify U.S. killing. Sen. Joe Lieberman (D-CN) whooped that the United States and the KLA “stand for the same values and principles. Fighting for the KLA is fighting for human rights and American values.” And since Clinton administration officials publicly compared Serb leader Slobodan Milošević to Hitler, every decent person was obliged to applaud the bombing campaign.

Both the Serbs and ethnic Albanians committed atrocities in the bitter strife in Kosovo. But to sanctify its bombing campaign, the Clinton administration waved a magic wand and made the KLA’s atrocities disappear. British professor Philip Hammond noted that the 78-day bombing campaign “was not a purely military operation: NATO also destroyed what it called ‘dual-use’ targets, such as factories, city bridges, and even the main television building in downtown Belgrade, in an attempt to terrorize the country into surrender.”

Armed Israeli Settlers Burn Hundreds of Olive Trees south of Nablus

Palestinian chief of the profile for illegal Israeli settlements in the northern West Bank, Ghassan Daghlas, told media outlets that several armed Israeli colonists, from the illegal Israeli settlement of Giv’at Ronaie, broke into the nearby Palestinian-owned farm land, east of Burin village.

Daghlas said that right after they invaded the farm land, they set fire to hundreds of fruitful olive trees among other crops.

He added that after the attack, the colonists fled the area, back to their illegal settlement.

Noteworthy, Israeli colonial settlers repeatedly attack Palestinian-owned farm lands throughout the West Bank. There are almost 200 illegal Israeli settlements, erected on Palestinian lands, across the West Bank.

These settlers’ attacks on Palestinians and their property, are widely perceived by Palestinians as vicious attempts to disrupt the already difficult lives of Palestinians, intending to force them to concede their farmlands, which are adjacent to the colonial Israeli settlements.

I write today to highlight certain factors that will hopefully serve to inform what are likely ongoing embryonic conversations at the District level, relating to COVID and the 2020-21 school year – and further – to urge a particular path of restraint during such conversations based on abundant scientific, medical, neuro-cognitive and legal considerations which have now emerged.

At the beginning of this letter, I want to acknowledge that it is quite obvious that there is a virus, which can be sometimes fatal, particularly to certain demographics. That said, there are also a federal and state constitution – which have been to some degree overlooked by certain states in their rush to contain the virus – as well as data in the form of hard math and hard science, which is now emerging in the context of COVID, and which bears review.

Math on COVID was Wrong

The study that precipitated the lockdown of more than 95% of America’s population (and indeed, the planet’s population) was authored by Neil Ferguson, out of the UK. It predicted deaths in the millions. This alarming conclusion was taken into account by leaders of most nations, and acted on accordingly. America acted by quarantining – not the sick – but the approximately 311 million Americans who were not sick, and putting them under the functional equivalent of house arrest, for an indefinite period of time. Interestingly, after a mere one day of himself being under lockdown in the UK, the study’s author walked back his math a shocking ninety-six percent (96%): his revision of deaths in his own country went from a predicted 500,000 down to 20,000.

At this juncture, allow me to point out the obvious, using an analogy involving my daughter: if my daughter Katya routinely said the answer to a math problem this year was 100, when it was indeed only 4 – and Katya continued to get her math problems wrong by 96% – she would receive a failing grade in math from Foothill High. And rightly so: with such incompetence in basic arithmetic reflected on her transcript, I would hope that she not be hired by anyone, anywhere, in any serious job that required basic math, as such degree of error – in engineering, statistics, or any job – would have fatal consequences (imagine if the degree of slope in a freeway overpass were 96% wrong).

Why Neil Ferguson’s model was adopted in the first place is curious, as this was not his first such major error: witness Ferguson’s 2001 model of mad cow disease – which predicted horrible fatalities including up to 150,000 deaths in England – which was subsequently deemed “not fit for purpose” when in fact only 177 people died (and that’s through 2020).[1]

Indeed, what current actual data evinces is that the mortality rate is nowhere near the initial projections, as concluded by a study out of Stanford on Sunday, followed by one out of USC yesterday.

But in a bid to show they 'stand against racism and all forms of discrimination', Mercedes have abandoned their traditional 'Silver Arrows' trim for the 2020 season.

Hamilton and his team-mate, Valtteri Bottas, will instead race in an all-black base livery 'as a public pledge to improve the diversity' of Mercedes when the delayed season starts with the Austrian Grand Prix on Sunday.

Both drivers will also wear black overalls and adapt the designs of their helmets in order to reflect the campaign.

The message 'End Racism' will be displayed on the halo of both cars, while the new F1 initiative #WeRaceAsOne will feature on the mirrors.

Hamilton, who attended a Black Lives Matter protest in London earlier this month, worked closely with Mercedes and team principal Toto Wolff on the project.

Fauci warns that anti-vaxxers could prevent coronavirus herd immunity

Researchers around the globe are working overtime to discover the first effective coronavirus vaccine, but in an interview with CNN, Dr. Anthony Fauci warned that a vaccine can only create herd immunity if a large enough portion of the population gets it. With the current amount of apathy and anti-vax sentiment in the U.S., that’s a more difficult task than it may seem.

Polls have shown that a worrying percentage of the country — as much as one-third — doesn’t plan to get the vaccine when it becomes available, even if it’s free, due to either a mistrust of vaccines in general or a belief that the virus isn’t dangerous enough to warrant it. As clinical trials continue for potential vaccines, Fauci is keeping those numbers in mind.

“The best we’ve ever done is measles, which is 97 to 98% effective,” said Fauci on CNN Friday. “That would be wonderful if we get there. I don’t think we will. I would settle for [a] 70, 75% effective vaccine.”

However, if only 70 or 75% of Americans get the vaccine, Fauci believes it’s “unlikely” that the U.S. would achieve the “herd immunity” necessary to shut down person-to-person spreading of the virus. In order to improve that number, Fauci says that a large-scale community education campaign will need to be put into action by the government.

“There is a general anti-science, anti-authority, anti-vaccine feeling among some people in this country,” he said. “Anyone [who] thinks it will be easy is not facing reality. It’s going to be very difficult.”

Iowa Senate Candidate Takes Thousands From Corporate-Funded PACs

Democrat Theresa Greenfield has made campaign finance a centerpiece of her campaign

Iowa Democratic Senate hopeful Theresa Greenfield has benefited from hundreds of thousands of dollars in corporate special interest money even as she campaigns against the influence of money in politics.

The Iowa Democrat has accepted nearly $200,000 in campaign contributions from leadership PACs bankrolled by corporations. Greenfield received $30,000 from PACs affiliated with senators Gary Peters (D., Mich.), Debbie Stabenow (D., Mich.), and Kyrsten Sinema (D., Ariz.)—groups that have accepted more than $1 million in corporate PAC contributions, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

Those donations have helped Greenfield bombard Iowa's airwaves with advertisements calling for campaign finance reform. Greenfield claimed in a June 19 ad that she does not take corporate PAC money, saying she does not "think politicians should put corporate interests ahead of you."

In addition to leadership PAC money, Greenfield has benefited from millions in corporate PAC money through outside groups supporting her bid to unseat Sen. Joni Ernst (R.). Senate Majority PAC, a Chuck Schumer-aligned group backed by corporations and liberal billionaires, has spent nearly $7 million on ads supporting Greenfield. When fellow Iowa Democrat Mike Franken criticized Greenfield for benefiting from ads funded by "lobbyists and corporate PACS and Bain Capital and businesses" as well as "dark money," Greenfield dismissed the attack as "Republican talking points." Schumer has pledged to spend at least $13.1 million in Iowa this year.

While many top 2020 Democratic challengers have renounced corporate PAC money in their bids to unseat Republican incumbents, the pledge is largely symbolic. Corporate PACs rarely contribute directly to candidates, instead funneling money to current lawmakers. Leadership PACs give Democratic candidates a workaround, allowing them to collect corporate money from an indirect source. Greenfield led all Democratic Senate challengers in leadership PAC funds as of December 2019, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

Greenfield, who did not respond to a request for comment, has also accepted nearly $50,000 in campaign contributions from lobbyists. Among her top donors are Avenue Solutions' Amy Tejral and Forbes Tate Partners' Jeffrey Forbes. The pair combined to contribute more than $8,000 and have lobbied for the likes of Exxon Mobil, JPMorgan Chase, Bank of America, and Deutsche Telekom. Forbes, who served as chief of staff to former senator and Obama China ambassador Max Baucus, has received $17.6 million in pharmaceutical lobbying contracts to date, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

How the Fed Gets Away with Ripping Off Ordinary Americans

The Federal Reserve has printed trillions of dollars without generating runaway price inflation through the use of a neat trick.

The privately owned bank cartel shovels the bulk of the money to Wall Street banks and not to the public at large. Instead of millions of Americans rushing out to bid up prices on consumer goods, a relative handful of bankers is using the free money to bid up asset prices and then pay themselves huge performance bonuses.

It’s quite the racket. Fed officials have been able to point at stock prices as “proof” of how they successfully engineered an economic recovery.

Wall Street is the true beneficiary of all the largesse and Main Street doesn’t ask too many questions as long as the stock market is roaring higher.

Things have to be good, right?

Except now Americans noticing that Fed policy is horribly unfair. The distribution of recent stimulus funds from the Fed and Congress is so lopsided it’s outrageous. Politicians printed and borrowed roughly $6 trillion – the equivalent of $30,000 for every adult in the US.

How much of that cash did people actually see? About $1,200 if they were eligible for assistance.

And since Congress borrowed 100% of those funds, Americans are expected to pay it back. They’ll have to add it to their tab.

The pro-rata portion of the U.S. debt for each adult is already more than $110,000.

The trillions the Fed created were injected to buy Treasuries, lend into the repo markets and to make bond purchases. In theory, these funds will have to be paid back too. Since the Fed is never audited and doesn’t have to provide detail on Fed loans, we have to take their word for it.

We aren’t the only ones covering the ridiculous gap between what the Fed and Congress will spend to support bankers versus the rest of us. Wall Street on Parade has been watching the malfeasance for years.

The misnamed CARES Act passed by Congress in March authorized billions of dollars for small businesses. However, some of that was siphoned off by banks, including a New Jersey bank which collected $5.3 billion.

Larger, publicly traded companies with less need for emergency funding have also been cashing in on the program.

Bloomberg reports that two-thirds of the $3 trillion in stimulus money approved by Congress has been spent.

Those funds have been handed out with practically no oversight.

Fraud and mismanagement should be expected whenever Congress passes a massive spending program. If the spending program is rushed through with plenty of political cover, like the CARES act, it will be a bonanza for grifters, the special interests, and the well-connected.

Unfortunately, there isn’t much that frustrated Americans can do about it. Almost everyone in Washington (in both parties) supports what Fed and Congress have done to “stimulate” the economy thus far.

Why Did Shares Of Scandal-Scarred German Firm Wirecard Surge 150% On Monday?

German lawmakers want a parliamentary inquiry to investigate Wirecard’s collapse

Wirecard AG, the scandal-ridden German payment processor company engulfed in an accounting fraud imbroglio, saw its shares nonetheless surge by 154.5% on Frankfurt Stock Exchange on Monday.

Shares of Wirecard, which filed for insolvency on Thursday, plunged 95% last week.

“Wirecard shares have soared [Monday] on chatter that Worldline, the French payments group, might seek to buy parts of the struggling company,” said David Madden, market analyst at CMC Markets in London.

On Friday, the German daily newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung reported that Worldline was just one of several entities interested in acquiring parts of Wirecard.

Worldline itself is planning to acquire another French tech firm called Ingenico.

“While Wordline is yet to respond to the [Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung] article, it is consistent with our view that the merged Worldline/Ingenico… would be potential beneficiaries and/or suitors for customers seeking to leave the [Wirecard] platform,” analysts at Jefferies wrote on Monday.

But Jeffries also warned they were “cautious” about any such acquisition, citing that Worldline/Ingenico are also “well positioned to capture customers organically that would churn away from an insolvent [Wirecard] platform.”

But some observers attributed Monday’s price spike to merely a dead cat bounce.

Meanwhile, Wirecard faces a mountain of other troubles – its former CEO Markus Braun was arrested last week on suspicions of fraud. He posted a hefty bail of €5 million ($5.62 million) and is currently out of custody, Authorities in Munich are investigating Braun and other former company executives for their possible role in financial misconduct that led to some $2 billion in cash “missing” from Wirecard’s accounts.

Don't Be Fooled, Recent Coronavirus Data Suggests the Lockdowns Were a Colossal Mistake

In various states across the nation, there’s been a noticeable trend of an increase in coronavirus cases. While this fact makes the headlines, the detail that seems to get overlooked is the fact that deaths have declined. Florida, Arizona, Texas, and California are among the states that have experienced spikes in cases but have maintained declining death rates or no spike in deaths.

How is this possible? Conventional wisdom suggests that a spike in cases should result in a spike in deaths, but that has not panned out. The protests and riots following George Floyd’s death have been going on for nearly a month now. Surely a spike in deaths should shave occurred by now. But so far, it hasn’t.

Why not?

According to Justin Hart, an information architect and data analyst from San Diego, “who” gets the virus is just as important as “how many” get the virus. “Right now the average age of infected cases has dropped nearly 20 years,” Hart told PJ Media.

White House Coronavirus Task Force Member Dr. Anthony Fauci acknowledged this fact last week: “The overwhelming majority of people who are now getting infected are young people, like the people that you see in the clips in the paper or out in the crowds enjoying themselves.”

Coronavirus data says risk is low for most Americans

Young people, possibly from the recent protests and riots, are likely behind the recent spike in cases, and that tells us a lot about why the data looks the way it does right now. According to the CDC’s current best estimate, the fatality rate of the coronavirus for symptomatic cases only are as follows:

0-49 years old: .05%

50-64 years old: .2%

65+ years old: 1.3%

Overall ages: .4%

When you take into account that approximately 30% of coronavirus infections are asymptomatic, that drives the fatality rate down even further. “The risk of death for the general population of school and working age is typically in the range of a daily car ride to work,” notes Josh Ketter on Medium.

Professor Mark Woolhouse, an expert in infectious diseases in Scotland, led a study that determined current lockdown restrictions could be easily lifted as long the most vulnerable populations are left protected. According to Woolhouse, for the non-vulnerable population, the coronavirus is comparable to a “nasty flu.”

Fed's Primary Corporate Credit Facility Is Now Operational

Now that the Fed is buying about a $1 billion in corporate bond ETFs weekly, and as of two weeks ago, starting buying individual corporate bonds out of a list which, as we disclosed yesterday bizarrely includes such perfectly solvent and stable foreign corporate titans as Toyota, Volkswagen and Daimler, not to mention such domestic names as Apple and Berkshire, the US central bank has shifted away from the secondary market where its market manipulation only affects asset prices instead of directly providing funding to corporations, and starting today the NY Fed announced that its Primary Market Corporate Credit Facility (PMCCF) has also opened for business Monday, the last of its nine pandemic emergency lending programs to become operational, the one which will directly give money to corporations.

The program was first announced on March 23, the day the S&P hit its post crisis lows and the Fed implemented central planning in the form of Unlimited QE and corporate bond purchases in both the primary and secondary markets.

The Federal Reserve Bank of New York today announced that the Primary Market Corporate Credit Facility (PMCCF) is operational and available for use beginning June 29. The New York Fed also released the relevant certification forms, other transaction documentation and related materials, and additional Frequently Asked Questions regarding access to this facility.

The PMCCF provides a funding backstop for corporate debt to eligible issuers and is available to (i) purchase qualifying bonds as the sole investor in a bond issuance and (ii) purchase portions (up to 25%) of syndicated bonds at issuance (“co-investor” transactions).

Thanks to trillions in Fed interventions, corporate credit spreads have since collapsed back to tall time lows, and companies have been able to borrow a record amount of debt in 2020 to take advantage of cheaper credit costs, while ensuring that the credit bubble that brought us here is even bigger next time around.

As part of the official launch of the PMCCF, the Fed said in its release that pricing will be issuer-specific and informed by market conditions. Prices will also be subject to minimum and maximum spreads over comparable maturity Treasury securities.

Lebanon’s Financial Meltdown: Currency Plunges 80%, Huge Losses at Central Bank, IMF Bailout Stalled

The financial crisis in Lebanon has seen its currency, the Lebanese pound, fall 80%. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has estimated that the country’s central bank has accumulated losses as much as 170 trillion pounds. The disagreement between the Lebanese government and the central bank has stalled bailout discussions.

The economic and financial crisis in Lebanon has deepened as the local currency has been in a free-fall. The Lebanese pound sold at a rate of 8,000 to the U.S. dollar on Sunday at local exchanges, losing about 80% of its value over the past 10 months.

The IMF has warned Lebanon that its central bank, Banque du Liban, has accumulated losses of up to 170 trillion pounds, the Financial Times reported on Thursday. The publication explained that the central bank has used “a series of sovereign debt and currency swaps with local lenders … to shore up the banking sector, attract foreign currency and stabilize the Lebanese pound.” Citing people familiar with the matter, the publication reported that the IMF told the Lebanese finance minister and central bank governor:

That activity, combined with the impact of Lebanon’s default in March on the bank’s sovereign bond holdings and a collapse in the value of the currency, has resulted in accumulated losses of about L£170tn.

The losses equate to 91% of Lebanon’s total economic output in 2019 and are almost equal to the total value of the deposits held by the central bank from the country’s commercial banks, the news outlet conveyed. The pound had been pegged at 1,507.5 to the U.S. dollar since 1997.

An IMF spokesperson said last week, “Our estimates are broadly consistent with those in the government’s plan.” The central bank and some members of parliament, however, argued that the losses are substantially lower.

The disagreement between the Lebanese government and the central bank has put the prospect of obtaining much-needed emergency financing from the IMF at risk. IMF Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva said Friday that she did not “expect progress in the negotiations with the Lebanese officials.” Georgieva added: “IMF officials are still working with Lebanon, but it is not clear whether it is possible for the country’s leaders, active parties, and society to agree on implementing the reforms needed to stabilize the economy and boost economic growth.”

However, “Not accepting the diagnostic simply means that the IMF [will] walk away,” commented Henri Chaoul, a banker and former advisor to the government in the IMF talks. He resigned from his advisory role at the Ministry of Finance on June 17. Lebanon’s fiscal and monetary policy has come undone over the past six months, following weeks of anti-government protests.

Fla. Middle School Teacher Allegedly Gives Oral Sex To Minor at Party Before Mom Confronts Her

Detectives from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office arrested a teacher from Lakeland’s Lake Gibson Middle School on Thursday, June 25, 2020, after it was discovered that she had sexual relations with a juvenile.

The teacher, 49-year-old Leslie Bushart of Lakeland, was booked into the Polk County Jail, charged with Lewd Battery. During her arrest, she told detectives that she has been a teacher for 29 years. Please refer all inquiries regarding her employment to the Polk County School Board.

The investigation began on June 16th after the boy’s parents notified the PCSO. They reported that the incident occurred on June 6th during a graduation party for the victim’s older sister.

According to the arrest affidavit, Bushart told another person at that party that she had just performed oral sex on the teenage victim. That person then informed the mother of the victim. The mother confronted Bushart, who then quickly left the party.

Bushart later reached out to the victim’s mother via Facebook Messenger and tried to rationalize her behavior by saying she was drunk at the party.

When detectives met with Bushart, she confessed to the crime. She told them that she and the boy walked away from the crowd together and she attempted to smoke marijuana, but was so drunk that she couldn’t get it lit. At that point she began performing oral sex on the victim.

“Leslie Bushart victimized a teenage boy. She betrayed her profession, as well as her friends during what was supposed to be a very special day,” Sheriff Grady Judd said. “There is technically one victim in this case, but the entire family and school community have suffered from this.”

Coronavirus becoming far less deadly as it “adapts” to human hosts… no vaccine necessary, says doctor

A professor and infectious disease expert from Italy says that the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) is already fizzling out, and that a vaccine for it will probably already be obsolete by the time it arrives.

Matteo Bassetti, head of the infectious disease unit at the Policlinico San Martino Hospital in Italy told the British media that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) virus, as it is also called, is rapidly losing virulence and could disappear completely without any further intervention.

Since the novel virus is already showing signs of decline in terms of infection severity, it is only a matter of time before it becomes a non-issue entirely, with no vaccine necessary.

“The clinical impression I have is that the virus is changing in severity,” he told The Telegraph (UK). As it turns out, the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) was much more serious back in March and early April than it is now, with current patterns suggesting it to be far less serious than other common illnesses.

“Now, in the past four weeks, the picture has completely changed in terms of patterns. There could be a lower viral load in the respiratory tract, probably due to a genetic mutation in the virus which has not yet been demonstrated scientifically. Judicial Watch Statement on Supreme Court Abortion Ruling

Judicial Watch President Tom Fitton made the following statement regarding the Supreme Court’s ruling against the Louisiana law requiring doctors who perform abortions to have admitting privileges at a nearby hospital:

(No. 18-1460), in which it opposed abortion providers’ efforts to overturn Louisiana’s Unsafe Abortion Protection Act. In its brief, Judicial Watch argued that abortion providers petitioning the court to overturn the law lacked a legally protectable interest in the outcome, otherwise known as “standing.”

Judicial Watch pointed out that plaintiffs generally may file a lawsuit only to protect their own rights, not the rights of others. In this litigation, the lower courts allowed third party abortion interests to challenge the law on the theory they represent the interests of women. As the brief points out, expanding health and safety requirements for abortionists can be argued to be in the best interests of women.

Air Biden: Secret Service provided security for Hunter Biden on 400-plus trips during Obama years

The son of the vice president went on 29 international trips with Secret Service in tow, according to records released under FOIA to Judicial Watch.

Hunter Biden has already made headlines with his pursuit of global business, raising questions about conflicts of interests by landing lucrative deals in Ukraine and China while his father Joe was vice president.

And now it’s his proclivity for globetrotting travel that is garnering attention.

The son of the former vice president and 2020 Democratic presidential nominee in waiting used Secret Service protection on at least 411 international and domestic trips during the Obama years, according to records released this month under the Freedom of Information Act to the conservative watchdog Judicial Watch.

The records show Hunter Biden made at least 29 international trips between January 2009 and July 2014 and hundreds more criss-crossing the United States.

Five of the trips were to China, where the Bidens raised eyebrows in December 2013 as Hunter joined his father on an official government trip and pursued an investment opportunity in the shadows of his father’s work.

Six months later, Hunter Biden landed on the board of the Ukrainian gas company Burisma Holdings at a time when his father oversaw U.S.-Ukraine policy and the company was under investigation.

State Department officials testified at last fall’s impeachment proceedings that the Ukraine arrangement created the appearance of a conflict of interest.

While it is normal for the Secret Service to provide family members of a president and vice president with security details, Hunter Biden’s security logs stand out for the sheer volume of travel.

The FOIA covered 1,987 days of the Obama presidency (July 1, 2014 thru Jan. 19, 2017 have not yet been produced), meaning Hunter Biden averaged a trip once every five days or so during the covered period.

The Secret Service did not provide the cost figures for providing security for those trips, but it is likely to run into the hundreds of thousands of dollars since Hunter Biden went to places like Kenya, London, France, Spain and China, the newly released records show.
