Had a discourse with a 25 yr old the other day and asked if he knew what 'wisdom' is.
He thought for a moment and to his credit, turned to me, "No I guess I don't".
So I told him, which is challenging as it is too broad to define.
I realized then that his peers and those after him are lost generations.
Hence, this is a contributing factor in all of the mayhem.
Sagacity: acuteness of mental discernment and soundness of judgment
Sapient: possessing sagacity and wisdom

hold on for this is a face palm and ask if it looks all too familiar

on another note-
Homo sapiens- derives from being sapient (beyond the animal instinct)
How many in this 'lost generation' fit what descriptor?
How many display attributes of a homo sapient or perhaps its opposite?
Calling one of these 'descriptors' animal [v homo sapient] for their behavior is not racist; it is calling out the insidious DS [P] planned behavior modification and linguistically is deriving from dictionary definitions.
We've raised and non-educated an entire generation+ of non-homo-sapient-like behaviors.
BTW homo sapiens have no race, it includes all races.
