IMO, that person was walking along side (left) the camera person the entire time.
I've gone back frame by frame, nowhere to be seen until that left turn in to the gate.
Also, once beyond the gate, radio goes up, and that person breaks of to the left to hold back as the crowd comes through. Then poof.
