Venezuelan political activist Elizabeth Rogliani posted a video warning Americans to be concerned about the toppling of statues and attempted erasure of American history.

“I remember the statues of Christopher Columbus being knocked down. After that, the street names changed. Not all of them, but quite a few of them,” said Rogliani. “They changed the name of the National Park in Caracas, EI La Vella Turuepano, something more indigenous. They changed the flag of our country. They also changed the name. They dismantled our police in 2001 and put in place a new one. They changed our voting system so the way we voted changed.”

This is a warning that every American needs to pay attention to.

4 Children Shot, 18 People Dead, 47 Wounded in Weekend Violence in Mayor Lightfoot’s Chicago

65 people were shot across Chicago this weekend as Mayor Lightfoot pushed for police reform and lectured the city on Coronavirus safety measures.

Four children were among the 65 people shot.

A total of 18 people died, including 2 children and a baby.

The weekend gun violence brought Chicago past 300 homicides so far this year, the benchmark that Supt. David Brown challenged the police department to stay under in April. Last year, the city didn’t break 300 homicides until early August, according to Sun-Times data.

A 10-year-old girl was fatally shot Saturday night when a stray bullet hit her inside a Logan Square home on the Northwest Side.

Earlier that afternoon, a 1-year-old boy was killed and his mother was wounded in Englewood on the South Side.

Earlier that morning, a teenage boy was shot to death in Humboldt Park on the West Side.

The most recent fatal shooting happened early Monday in Brighton Park on the Southwest Side.

A 21-year-old man was walking about 2:22 a.m. in the 4400 block of South Whipple Street when a male suspect approached him and shot him in the face and leg, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Nearly two hours before that, a man was found shot to death in Humboldt Park.

On Sunday night, a man was shot and killed in Garfield Park on the West Side.

The 23-year-old was found unresponsive with gunshot wounds to the hip about 11:04 p.m. in the 4500 block of West Maypole Avenue, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Earlier Sunday night, another man was killed in West Pullman on the Far South Side.

Three people were killed in separate shootings within 90 minutes Sunday morning.

Last weekend 104 people were shot in Chicago, 15 fatally, including 5 children.

Chinese Parliament Unanimously Passes National Security Law for Hong Kong

The legislation, supported by Hong Kong leadership, caused protests in the city, as some residents saw it as undermining their liberties. It also drew criticism and sanctions from the United States, despite Beijing repeatedly stating that the matter of Hong Kong is the nation's internal affair and should not be interfered with.

The Chinese parliament unanimously passed a national security law for Hong Kong on Tuesday morning that envisages imprisonment and penalties for acts of what it considers subversion, secession, terrorism or foreign collusion that could threaten national security, according to SCMP.

Approved by the 162 members of the National People's Congress Standing Committee, the law sets a maximum penalty of life-sentence, contrary to earlier limits of 10 years, SCMP reported, citing sources. The Basic Law Committee will reportedly meet "immediately after the standing committee passed the law to discuss its insertion into Annex III of the Basic Law".

The law would make it legitimate to set up mainland security agencies in Hong Kong, and for the committee headed by the chief executive to appoint judges to oversee national security cases, RTHK reported. The chief executive will be supervised by the central government, and the new legislation will be adopted into existing Hong Kong law.

Hong Kong city leader Carrie Lam said it was not appropriate for her to comment on the law, as the discussion of it in Beijing is still ongoing, Reuters reported, noting that she would provide comment as soon as details are unveiled.

The draft of the law is to be published in the afternoon, marking the first time that details will be disclosed to the public, according to the Xinhua news agency. The legislation is expected to come into force on 1 July.

The national security law was introduced last month, causing additional wave of protest in Hong Kong, as some residents fear it will undermine their liberties. Beijing received condemnation from the United States on the legislation, but refuted it, insisting that Hong Kong is internal and is therefore not subject to external interference.

Washington has revoked Hong Kong's special status, ending its defence equipment and "sensitive technology" exports to the former Special Administrative Region and threatening to implement other "measures", while denouncing the national security legislation.

President Donald Trump's private calls with Russian President Vladimir Putin sometimes have the tone of 'two guys in a steam bath,' according a bombshell account that portrays Trump as bending over backward to win the strongman's approval.

Putin 'just outplays' Trump during their one-on-one interactions, according to a CNN report published Monday by legendary Watergate reporter Carl Bernstein. During those calls and others with foreign leaders, Trump regularly tries to tout his own wealth and success, according to the report.

At the same time, with Putin he routinely characterizes his predecessors as 'imbeciles' and weaklings.'

The revelations about the calls are contained in a deeply sourced – though thinly quoted – account by legendary Watergate journalist Carl Bernstein.

Trump won office in 2016 despite media criticism of his repeated praise for Putin, even as Russia was revealed by U.S. intelligence to be orchestrating an election interference and hacking campaign.

They are part of a web of Trump calls to the leaders of Australia, Turkey, Canada, Australia and western European countries during his presidency that officials who see call transcripts describe as 'abominations.'

In addition to repeatedly building up his own wealth, as he has done repeatedly in public, Trump would revel in his time running the Miss Universe pageant in Moscow, according to the account.

Trump had touted a meeting with Putin at the event, although it evidently never happened. A source trashed the calls, saying that while Putin destabilizes the West, Trump 'sits there and thinks he can build himself up enough as a businessman and tough guy that Putin will respect him.'

Milano was likely still upset after critics discovered an old comedy sketch where she darkened her face in order to mock reality TV star Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi of MTV's "Jersey Shore" franchise.

She denied that her makeup was comparable to blackface and lashed out at her detractors.

"The right wing trolls are using a still from this funny or die video where a parodied Snookie from Jersey Shore. If you see the screen grab that they are using maybe you can shut them down with a link to the entire video," she tweeted.

She did not produce any evidence that Putin was helping spread the "cancel culture" narratives in the United States.
