President Trump needs to be informed that the ‘CARES Act’ (aka Stimulus money) has many faults, and the IRS should NOT be be the ones we’re supposed to call when there’s a problem. The IRS says they can only track the whereabouts of the money for the person filing; not any of their dependents. They told me they can’t do anything to help find out why my family has not received anything yet, and that the money is not coming from them; it’s only going through them.
I am a husband, and father of 4, and have received zero money from the stimulus. I did receive a “Notice Number: 1444”, dated May 13, 2020, that stated: “I am pleased to notify you, as provided by the CARES Act, You are receiving an Economic Impact Payment of $1200 by direct deposit..”, but I have yet to receive any money.
When I contacted the IRS I sat on hold for 1h10min to be answered by a girl who could not take any pertinent information (i.e. SSN, Payment info, etc), she then put me on hold for another 15 minutes, then that lady looked at mine and said she could put a “trace” on my payment of $1200 is, & that it’d take 6 weeks for that to happen, & also said she could not say why my wife & kids are not receiving anything, even though I told her they were all on my taxes this year. Every thing I asked her for help, about my wife and children’s money, she said she did not have that information, or that she was not capable of getting it.
During that entire phone conversation, of the 1hr48mins, all I found out is the “trace” that was put on the $1200 (just for my stimulus) would take 6 weeks, I still have no other answers about my wife and children’s money, except she did say; “You’ll need to file a claim next year, on your 2020 taxes, showing that you didn’t ever receive your stimulus.”
The stimulus was for right now, not after I file taxes next year
My wife has not been making any money due to the SO-CALLED pandemic, so we’re living solely off my military retirement and my VA benefits, and we are falling fast.
This stimulus has done nothing to help us, and it won’t help us right now (WHEN WE NEED IT), if we receive it next year after I file for it on my taxes
