Princeton Students Urge School Officials to Resist the ‘Siege Against Academic Freedom

A student organization called the Princeton Open Campus Coalition is urging university officials this week to push back against the demands of woke students and faculty. The university recently caved to demands to remove Woodrow Wilson’s name from the university’s school of public policy. According to the students, the “siege against academic freedom” is “fundamentally about ideology and power.”

In a statement published to Facebook on Monday, the Princeton Open Campus Coalition highlighted their concern for the direction of the university after a campaign by social justice activists successfully led to a major change.

Breitbart News reported on Saturday that Princeton had announced that they would remove Woodrow Wilson’s name from the school of public policy over Wilson’s stance on segregation. The decision came in response to a campaign by activist students that was ignited by the Black Lives Matter Movement.

In the statement, the Princeton Open Campus Coalition urged university officials to push back against the demands of the leftist activists.

On June 22, 2020, some students of the School of Public and International Affairs (“School’) submitted a list of demands to the University administration, seeking the enactment of certain “anti-racist” policies Among their demand, is the institution of required courses in line with their professed beliefs on “race, capitalism, and colonialism.” They further demand that the University, acting trough the School, hire more Black faculty, require “anti-racist training once per semester for all faculty, staff, preceptors, and administrator,” purge the University of any reference to Woodrow Wilson, and divest from what they refer to as the “prison-industrial complex.” While we express no collective opinion some demands like divestment. the vast majority of claims and demands made by these students amounts to a concerted siege of free thought at Princeton, which they seek to effect by hijacking the University bureaucracy to create a monopoly for their beliefs on deeply controversial and contentious issues.

The group argued that it is inappropriate for Princeton officials to blindly accept claims that it is bigoted to oppose the demands of leftist student activists. In doing so, the group argues, Princeton will have effectively policed speech and made it impossible to voice dissenting views.

To brand one side of these important debates as “racist,” “offensive,” or “harmful” and seek the “training” of those who hold alternative or “unacceptable” views is to rig the game well before it has begun and weaponize the administrative apparatus of the University against those who would doubt, question, or challenge the reigning orthodoxy of the day and age. This would strike a fatal blow to the very heart of higher education, the first principle of which is that there ought to be no safe space or shelter at a university In which any member of the community is ‘safe’ from having his or her most cherished values challenged?’ The increasingly popular trend of erasing opposing viewpoints and policing the acceptable range of thought and speech may not be corrected soon, but we firmly believe that it is the duty of institutions like Princeton, and universities more generally, to strongly resist the forces of enforced orthodoxy and unequivocally protect the freedom of thought and speech.

The Princeton students point out: “The siege against academic freedom is never at its core about race. It is, as it always has been and shall ever be, fundamentally about ideology and power.” The group claims to include members with diverse political viewpoints, brought together by the “belief that fearless and unrestrained civil discourse is critical to a proper understanding of these complex issues.”

On Monday, Breitbart News reported that Michelle Obama was celebrating Princeton’s decision to remove Woodrow Wilson’s name from their school of public policy. Obama, a graduate of Princeton University, said that the university must keep working to make the university more “inclusive” for students.

“Heartened to see my alma mater make this change, and even prouder of the students who’ve been advocating for this kind of change on campus for years. Let’s keep finding ways to be more inclusive to all students—at Princeton and at every school across the country,” Obama wrote in a tweet.

Charges Against 14 Black Lives Matter Protesters in Oregon Dismissed

Amy Furr30 Jun 2020

Criminal charges against 14 protesters arrested following Black Lives Matter (BLM) demonstrations in Salem, Oregon, were dropped Monday.

“The Salem Police Department arrested 14 people involved in the protests on charges of riot and interfering with a peace officer on May 31 and June 1,” the Statesman Journal reported.

The article continued:

Many of those arrested said they were peacefully protesting and were unable to leave in time after police began enforcing a citywide curfew. The protests marked the first time the city instituted a curfew and used tear gas on residents. Officials with the Marion County District Attorney’s Office said the cases were dismissed out of the need to serve the “interests of justice.”

“These arrests for causing public alarm and/or disobeying lawful police orders were supported by probable cause and necessary to maintain public safety,” said Marion County Deputy District Attorney Amy Queen, according to the Darien Times.

“After reviewing the full police reports it was determined that continued involvement by the criminal justice system would not serve the interests of justice, therefore, these cases have been dismissed,” she continued.

Prior to the charges being dropped, some of those arrested faced a felony charge for engaging in alleged “tumultuous conduct,” the Journal report noted.

In addition, Multnomah County District Attorney-Elect Mike Schmidt said June 17 that once he took office, he would consider dropping charges against nonviolent protesters arrested during demonstrations in Portland, according to the Oregonian.

“I am going to be looking really hard at what types of cases we are going to be prosecuting going forward from those protests,” he noted.

“There are DAs across the country that have said look, if these are essentially people practicing their First Amendment rights — they are out there telling the leaders the criminal justice system needs to change — we are not going to prosecute those,” he concluded.

Report: Leaked Tesla Emails Reveal Design Flaw in Batteries that Could Cause Breakdowns, Fires

Recently leaked emails from Elon Musk’s Tesla reveal that the company knew in 2012 of a battery design flaw in its Model S vehicles that could cause breakdown and even fires but sold the cars anyway.

Business Insider reports that recently leaked emails from 2012 reveal that Tesla was aware of a flaw in the design of the company’s Model S battery that could lead to breakdowns and fires but chose to sell the cars anyway. This news comes as owners of the company’s new Model Y vehicle complain of manufacturing issues including loose seatbelts and back seats.

Recently the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA) initiated a probe into faulty Tesla Model S touch screens made from 2012-2015, encompassing 63,000 vehicles.

The 2012 emails reveal that as Tesla began to ship its Model S vehicles, the company was still dealing with a major design flaw that could lead to leaks inside the battery. The leaks could then cause the car’s battery to short or leave a flammable residue inside the battery, according to experts that spoke to Business Insider.

The issue related to a poorly designed cooling mechanism, a cooling coil or bandolier that wraps around the battery pushing coolant around to regulate temperature. According to internal emails and three sources with knowledge on the matter, the end fitting of the cooling coils was made from weak aluminum and tiny pinholes often formed where the male and female parts of the end fitting were supposed to braze together.

The part in question was tested by third-party companies twice, cooling coils were sent to a test lab called IMR Test Labs in upstate New York in July of 2012. According to a report from IMR, the end fittings on the cooling coils did not meet chemical requirements for a regulation strength aluminum alloy. A source claims that these results were shared with Tesla which ignored them and continued to deliver the vehicles. The company’s 2012 third-quarter earnings report shows that Tesla delivered more than 250 Model S cars.

Jason Schug, a Vice President at Ricardo Strategic Consulting, has done teardowns and examinations of Tesla’s Model S and X vehicles that share the same battery. According to Schug, if coolant leaked into a battery module the battery could be rendered useless.

Schug told Business Insider:

When we disassembled the Tesla Model X, a technician accidentally spilled coolant in the battery pack and it sat there for a long time. There was no immediate danger, but when we removed the battery modules quite a while later we found a lot of corrosion on the battery cells and it was bad enough that some of the cells were leaking electrolyte. If this were to happen in the field and go unnoticed, it could result in bricking the battery.

Kevin Bacon Promotes Toddlers Marching for Black Lives Matter

Evil fucking creature, this one. The picture says it all

Actor Kevin Bacon is grateful, promoting a TikTok video showing a group of toddlers and young children marching for Black Lives Matter.

“New generations are marching in to help change us for the better. Love this,” the Footloose actor tweeted Tuesday, adding the #BlackLivesMatter hashtag. The video shows a group of seven young children marching down a sidewalk while holding and wearing signs that appeared to say “Black Lives Matter.”

Watch below:

One of the signs also appeared to criticize Amazon, but some of the writing on the sign was illegible in the video. Protestors in Washington, D.C., have targeted Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, recently leaving a mock guillotine outside his residence with a sign reading “Support our poor communities, not our wealthy men.”

Kevin Bacon said in an interview earlier this month that it was time for “old white guys like me” to “shut up” and pay attention to social justice activists.

“For an old guy like me, I was born in 1958, and to witness the passion of the young people across the world for social justice – it leaves me speechless, which is probably a good idea because I think it’s a good time for old white guys like me to just shut up and listen,” Bacon said in an appearance on NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

And when he’s not virtue signaling and cheering on toddlers promoting left-wing causes, Kevin Bacon blasting President Donald Trump’s administration.

“The administration’s position on the environment is despicable,” the actor said last June. “It blows my mind because in a lot of ways I think that the environment really shouldn’t be a political issue. This is the air that we breathe, the planet that we live on, this is the future of our lives and our children’s lives.”

McCaskill: Russia-Taliban Bounty Story ‘Makes Benghazi Look Like Playing with Toys

Pam Key29 Jun 2020

Sorry you giddy bitch, nothing is bigger than Benghazi, you know that event that you all deny today. Does that mean she knew Benghazi was bad, seems like that’s what she’s admitting

Tuesday on MSNBC’s “Deadline,” network political commentator and former Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) commented on the severity of the reports that intelligence officials said Russian operatives offered cash payments to Taliban-linked militants to kill American troops in Afghanistan.

McCaskill said, “Let’s look at this. at 1:00 this afternoon, the president’s press representative said he still hadn’t been briefed. Now, let that sink in. He’s been playing golf. He’s been tweeting stuff, but he hasn’t said, ‘Hey, I need to get to the bottom of this. This is really important. Our enemy, Russia, is putting a price on the heads of our military. Now let’s think about what’s going on this afternoon in addition to that. They’re doing a briefing at the White House for Republicans only. That is unheard of at moments like this. It’s the United States of America and one of the few places that we’ve managed to keep it united is support for our troops.”

She added, “This should be a bipartisan briefing. If you don’t want the whole Senate, it should certainly be the Intelligence Committee, with Gina Haskell answering questions. It should certainly be the armed services committee with Esper answering questions. It should certainly be the foreign relations committee with Pompeo answering questions. And it should be Republicans and Democrats. But the notion that they are asking the Republicans to run up to the White House to get their political instructions, to learn how to lie for this president at a moment that Putin has the price on the heads of our military in Afghanistan. This is a scandal — I mean, they wanted to make a big deal about Benghazi? This makes Benghazi look like playing with toys. This is a big deal and they are not treating it like it’s a big deal.”

Delingpole: Forbes Cancels Environmentalist Who Wrote ‘I Apologize for the Climate Scare

Forbes sold the majority of their company China, it’s in China’s best interest

•“On Behalf of Environmentalists, I Apologise for the Climate Scare,” said an article published in Forbes magazine by Mike Shellenberger.

•At least it did, till Forbes caved to furious green activists and pulled it within hours of publication. By arguing that climate change is real – but “not the end of the world” and “not even our most serious environmental problem,” Shellenberger had been found guilty of wrongthink.

•As he recounts in his cancelled article – which can be read here – Shellenberger could scarcely have more impeccable greenie/lefty credentials.

•At 17, I lived in Nicaragua to show solidarity with the Sandinista socialist revolution. At 23 I raised money for Guatemalan women’s cooperatives. In my early 20s I lived in the semi-Amazon doing research with small farmers fighting land invasions. At 26 I helped expose poor conditions at Nike factories in Asia.

•I became an environmentalist at 16 when I threw a fundraiser for Rainforest Action Network. At 27 I helped save the last unprotected ancient redwoods in California. In my 30s I advocated renewables and successfully helped persuade the Obama administration to invest $90 billion into them. Over the last few years I helped save enough nuclear plants from being replaced by fossil fuels to prevent a sharp increase in emissions.

But none of this was enough to save him the green mob which apparently bullied Forbes into withdrawing the piece

•Here are some of the facts in Shellenberger’s article which so infuriated his critics:

•Humans are not causing a “sixth mass extinction”

•The Amazon is not “the lungs of the world”

•Climate change is not making natural disasters worse

•Fires have declined 25% around the world since 2003

•The amount of land we use for meat — humankind’s biggest use of land — has declined by an area nearly as large as Alaska

•The build-up of wood fuel and more houses near forests, not climate change, explain why there are more, and more dangerous, fires in Australia and California

•Carbon emissions are declining in most rich nations and have been declining in Britain, Germany, and France since the mid-1970s

•Adapting to life below sea level made the Netherlands rich not poor

•We produce 25% more food than we need and food surpluses will continue to rise as the world gets hotter

•Habitat loss and the direct killing of wild animals are bigger threats to species than climate change

•Wood fuel is far worse for people and wildlife than fossil fuels

•Preventing future pandemics requires more not less “industrial” agriculture

Shellenberger admits that though he has known the truth for some time, he kept quiet till last year because he was ‘afraid of losing friends and funding’. What prompted him to speak out was that he saw the ‘climate scare’ was spiralling out of control.

To make amends, he wrote a book called Apocalypse Never: Why Environmental Alarmism Hurts Us All.

•It exposes many inconvenient truths that greenies would prefer that you didn’t know.

•Factories and modern farming are the keys to human liberation and environmental progress

•The most important thing for saving the environment is producing more food, particularly meat, on less land

•The most important thing for reducing air pollution and carbon emissions is moving from wood to coal to petroleum to natural gas to uranium

•100% renewables would require increasing the land used for energy from today’s 0.5% to 50%

•We should want cities, farms, and power plants to have higher, not lower, power densities

•Vegetarianism reduces one’s emissions by less than 4%

•Greenpeace didn’t save the whales, switching from whale oil to petroleum and palm oil did

•“Free-range” beef would require 20 times more land and produce 300% more emissions

•Greenpeace dogmatism worsened forest fragmentation of the Amazon

•The colonialist approach to gorilla conservation in the Congo produced a backlash that may have resulted in the killing of 250 elephants

U.S. Bishops Condemn ‘Cruel’ SCOTUS Pro-Abortion Ruling

The chairman of the U.S. Bishops’ committee for pro-life activities denounced Monday’s Supreme Court decision that perpetuates the “cruel precedent” of prioritizing the abortion industry over women’s health and well-being.

In the case of June Medical Services v. Russo, the Supreme Court ruled 5 to 4 to strike down the Louisiana law requiring abortion doctors to have hospital admitting privileges to safeguard women’s health.

“Abortion violently ends the life of a child, and often severely harms women,” writes Kansas City Archbishop Joseph F. Naumann in a statement. “Abortion becomes even more destructive when basic health and safety standards are ignored, and profit margins are prioritized over women’s lives.”

“As Catholics, we condemn abortion as a grave injustice that denies the fundamental human right to life,” Archbishop Naumann said. “Yet even as we seek to end the brutality of legalized abortion, we still believe that the women who seek it should not be further harmed and abused by a callous, profit-driven industry.”

In his powerful dissent to the ruling, Justice Clarence Thomas not only criticized the court’s decision, he also said that the landmark 1973 case Roe v. Wade that trampled states’ rights and imposed abortion-on-demand on the entire country needs to be revisited and overturned, a position echoed by the U.S. bishops.

“The Constitution does not constrain the States’ ability to regulate or even prohibit abortion,” Justice Thomas wrote. “This Court created the right to abortion based on an amorphous, unwritten right to privacy, which it grounded in the ‘legal fiction’ of substantive due process.”

“As the origins of this jurisprudence readily demonstrate, the putative right to abortion is a creation that should be undone,” Thomas stated.

“Roe is grievously wrong for many reasons, but the most fundamental is that its core holding—that the Constitution protects a woman’s right to abort her unborn child—finds no support in the text of the Fourteenth Amendment,” he noted.

The Court’s grotesque judicial travesty in Roe v. Wade is further exacerbated by Monday’s ruling, the bishops contend.

“The Court’s failure to recognize the legitimacy of laws prioritizing women’s health and safety over abortion business interests continues a cruel precedent,” Archbishop Naumann declares. “As we grieve this decision and the pregnant women who will be harmed by it, we continue to pray and fight for justice for mothers and children.”

“We will not rest until the day when the Supreme Court corrects the grave injustice of Roe and Casey and recognizes the Constitutional right to life for unborn human beings,” the archbishop concludes. “And we continue to ask all people of faith to pray for women seeking abortion, often under enormous pressure, that they will find alternatives that truly value them and the lives of their children.”

None of this makes any sense, they’re getting a surgery yanking and killing a baby inside their wombs and they priority is not the womens life but the death of the baby. It tells you how incompetent the doctors or whoever is performing abortions are

It’s really sick and John Roberts should be sentenced to hell for his participation. He’s supposed to be Christian, how is any of this Christian or even the slightest bit caring.

Now the SC is recommending back alley abortions the thing that was supposed to stop with Roe vs Wade

Seriously John Roberts judgement from the hand of God is coming, IMO.
