The two generals were shoe-ins due to winning their wars (this counts as public service)

The other two dead presidents did pay their dues as elected officials for a short time.

But only two of those on the list were alive in my lifetime, and Dubya was a governor before he was president, so he's also disqualified.

Trump did neither, and became a first run president without having served in a war or in a previous public office.
