This is most definitely out of character for me. But nonetheless.
Holy God, we were sorely oppressed and we cried out again to you again and again to save us from the evil of our days. And you said to us, quietly, lovingly, "wait with me but a while, my child." At times we despaired, thinking in our own hearts that despite your promises, you had given us over to evil. But you kept saying, wait with me but a while, child." And we waited.
Then you brought to us a man to lead us, a man cut in the very cloth of your ancient Judges. But we said to you, "this is an imperfect man, a man who has flaws!" And you smiled once more, and said to us that what you see as flaws i will turn into virtues, and what you see as imperfections i will turn into my perfect will". And so we again waited, not for quite as long, while God prepared the message, the messenger, and the recipients for what was to come.
Now that we stand on the very eve of victory, i cry out:
Thank you, God.
