i used to date a radio person/program director

and we went to parties and i could tell stories like this as well

program directors and music directors were given coke in record sleeves

even the really small stations

all formats, country, rock, pop, r/b

so many now could be blackmailed and were

were sent drugs when the record guy senses they could lure them

sex, drugs, prostitutes, or whatever they wanted

the record guy would come to town often and befriend these radio guys

learn what they were into

then give it to them

records got added to the playlist and sold millions of records because of the plays/spins/other stations then would add to their playlists and HITS were made

even if the music really sucked.

MANY really normal dudes

got caught in this shit

some still in it as they never got caught by the feds

many went on to be big in the music industry

as they were deemed trusted to stay quiet

others went on to have mediocre careers in the radio industry

or left the industry as work dried up
