It’s interesting how this journalist is saying that cease fires can actually be counterproductive at times. It reminds me of the experiments into the power of prayer as related in a recent book by an academic working in that area. (She initially didn’t expect it to work!) Anyway, she decided to do an experiment relating to using prayer for peace. She needed a place where she could get statistics. She chose Sri Lanka where they were having an ongoing war of factions for her 2008 Peace Intention Experiment. She and her volunteers conducted their prayer session and then waited to see what would happen. Initially, they were concerned because the violence actually went up. But then, something happened. The level of violence in the area dropped substantially. Perhaps what the Sri Lankan situation needed was a clearing out of bad actors, and perhaps this would have been impossible without the violence.

They want us to share the live stream, which I did.

I'm going to see if I can get some programming done while it's on. Having stuff on in the background does slow me down, though. But the session is too important not to miss, and the contexting feature is too important not to be working on it. I'll check back with y'all later.
