>>9839228 A new lawsuit accuses 16 senior officials of the AFGE of either directly perpetuating racial and sexual misconduct or helping to cover up such incidents

The lawsuit contains new details about former union president Jeffrey David Cox's abuse of power as the top honcho of the union, alleging that he frequently used the company limo to travel to strip clubs or procure male prostitutes. It also accuses his successor, Dr. Everett Kelley, of shielding Cox and other union officials accused of sexual abuse and harassment. The members claim leadership frequently ignored allegations or reappointed accused officials to their posts shortly after they were removed.

"The toxic environment that existed under Cox continues unabated after his departure and under Defendants' leadership," the lawsuit says.

AFGE did not respond to a request for comment.

The union is closely affiliated with the Democratic Party: It endorsed Hillary Clinton for president in 2016 and Cox served in several posts in the Obama administration.

The union also provided an early boost to Biden's campaign, hosting the former vice president at an event one week before he officially announced his candidacy. AFGE will most likely endorse the vice president for the 2020 election since its internal poll showed that a majority of its members support Biden over President Donald Trump.

The government union is also a prodigious campaign donor, funneling more than $1.1 million to Democratic operations such as the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee during the 2018 election cycle, according to the Center for Responsive Politics. The group also spent $1.8 million on lobbying in 2019, advocating for pro-labor legislation.

AFGE has faced a #MeToo reckoning in recent months after dozens of current and former staffers and members accused Cox of multiple incidents of sexual assault, including one incident in which Cox licked the ear of a subordinate.

The union has since distanced itself from its former president and tapped Kelley to replace him in February. But with fresh allegations of sexual impropriety leveled against additional top union members, the new lawsuit could throw a wrench into AFGE's plans to move forward.

A prior independent investigation into Cox's conduct—commissioned by AFGE—largely let Kelley off the hook. The lawsuit, however, contests the investigation's conclusion, accusing Kelley of routinely covering up Cox's troubling conduct. For example, when Cox inappropriately touched a male pool attendant at a hotel during an AFGE conference in 2017, Kelley did some "fast talking" to convince the hotel managers to allow the AFGE delegation to stay, according to a sworn statement provided by Pam Baca, an AFGE official. Cox suffered no repercussions for his sexual misconduct other than being forced to stay in his hotel room for the duration of the conference.

"Defendant Kelley did not appear to be alarmed or even surprised by the … sexual misconduct complaint," according to the lawsuit. "In fact, Defendant Kelley's response to Ms. Baca concerning the news was casual and even jocular."

Kelley also allegedly tolerated sexual misconduct allegations against his subordinates. In 2015, an AFGE trustee removed Jamie Dukes, vice president of a local union for a Georgia Army base, after learning that Dukes sent pictures of his genitalia to female union members. Kelley ordered Dukes's reinstatement one month later, allowing him to continue his predatory behaviors, according to the lawsuit.

The lawsuit also brings to light new racial discrimination involving Cox and other senior union officials. Cox repeatedly referred to his Pakistani limo driver as a "sand n—" and drunkenly told his African-American driver, "You know we white folks are going to hang you black people," according to the legal document. The problem went beyond Cox, however. When a local union president called the union's highest-ranking black official a "n—," the senior officials of the union "took no remedial or disciplinary action" against the president. Instead, they attempted to discipline the black official for "overreacting to being called a slur."

Biden Trots Out Small Business Owner Who Got Thousands in Gov't Assistance to Argue Trump Isn't Helping Small Business

Oh the irony is just freakin funny

A new campaign video from Joe Biden features a small business owner who says the Trump administration did nothing to help her during the coronavirus pandemic. Unmentioned is that she received thousands through the administration's Paycheck Protection Program.

Tiffany Easley, who owns NV My Eyewear in Philadelphia, received a forgivable $27,000 loan during the first phase of the program in April, she disclosed to local news outlet . She disclosed the same to Biden during a June 11 roundtable he held in Philadelphia, telling him her major concern was creating safe conditions for her furloughed staff to come back into the store.

But the disclosure is missing from the video testimonial Easley provided for the Biden campaign, in which she says the administration made "everything worse."

"I had to permanently close one location and furlough my employees," Easley says in the video. "But what's worse, is that this president seemed to make everything else worse. Donald Trump and his administration left the American people behind, the people he is supposed to protect and serve. Small businesses—they need a partner in the White House, and that's why I’m with Joe."

Neither the Biden campaign nor Easley responded to a request for comment.

The new ad comes as the Biden campaign works to capitalize on the economic downturn brought by the coronavirus, which took away one of Trump's biggest reelection talking points. New economic data released Thursday showed a sharp decline in unemployment and the addition of 4.8 million new jobs—indicating that the economy is rebounding faster than experts predicted.

The Trump campaign called the new Biden video a "dishonest" attempt to "undermine confidence" in the ongoing economic recovery, which it says was fueled by the success of PPP.

"The first round of President Trump's incredibly successful Paycheck Protection Program processed more than 14 years’ worth of loans in less than 14 days," said Ali Pardo, the campaign's deputy communications director. "Thanks to this fast surge of support for small business owners like Tiffany, tens of millions of workers continued to receive paychecks. The fact is, President Trump is restoring the historically strong economy he built before and there’s nothing Joe Biden can do to stop it."

Alfredo Ortiz, president of the Job Creators Network, told the Washington Free Beacon the video should be taken down by the Biden campaign for "false advertising."

"It ignores the success of the PPP, which has helped roughly five million small business owners, including the one featured in the ad itself," Ortiz said. "The fact that the Biden campaign couldn't even find a small business owner who hadn't received PPP funds demonstrates the incompetence of the Biden brand, and just how expansive President Trump's relief efforts have been."

Mississippi Passes Law Banning Abortions Based on Race, Sex, Disability

Graham Piro - JULY 2, 2020 7:54 PM

Gov. Tate Reeves (R., Miss.) signed the Life Equality Act into law Wednesday, banning abortion on the basis of a fetus's race, sex, or disability in the state of Mississippi.

The bill, which makes sex-selective, race-selective, or disability-selective abortion a felony, passed Mississippi's state senate by a 33-11 vote and went to Reeves's desk after a concurrence from the state house. The law's language mentions sex-selective abortions and abortions targeting genetic abnormalities as examples of "modern-day eugenics."

"Sex-selection abortions are used to prevent the birth of a human being of the undesired sex. Its victims are overwhelming [sic] female," the law states.

It also states that pharmaceutical treatments, gene therapies, and prosthetic advances have provided disabled individuals with "much greater opportunities for survival and success than ever before."

The law requires physicians that perform abortions to confirm in a report that the abortion is not being performed because of the listed categories. Violating the law is punishable by up to 10 years in jail and a suspension of the physician's license to practice in the state.

While other pro-life laws, such as heartbeat bills, have encountered legal challenges after passage, laws banning selective abortions have found legal success. In Missouri, a federal judge stopped a law banning abortions after eight weeks from going into effect, but allowed the provision of the law banning sex-selective abortions to stand.

The pro-life Susan B. Anthony List praised Reeves's "strong pro-life leadership" in a statement.

"The enactment of the Life Equality Act is an historic victory for the pro-life citizens of Mississippi, for the voiceless victims of discrimination and all who advocate for them," the group said. "Starting now, unborn babies in Mississippi cannot be targeted for abortion based on their sex, race, or potential disability, such as Down syndrome."

Trump Calls Man Whose Son Was Shot and Killed in Seattle’s CHOP

President Donald Trump called Horace Lorenzo Anderson Sr. on Thursday to offer his condolences over the death of his son, Horace Lorenzo Anderson Jr., who was shot and killed inside Seattle’s Capitol Hill Occupied Protest (CHOP).

The CHOP was an area of several square blocks surrounding the East Precinct of the Seattle Police Department, which law enforcement was forced to abandon by city leaders after days of confrontation with Black Lives Matter protesters.

Following the departure of the police on June 9, the activists set up barricades and declared themselves the Seattle Autonomous Zone (SAZ) or Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ). Local Democratic leaders prevented the police from returning to enforce the law. Mayor Jenny Durkan downplayed public concerns, telling CNN June 11 that the zone was “more like a block party atmosphere” and that “[w]e could have the summer of love.” But it was not to be.

The CHOP was peaceful during the daylight hours, but violent at night, as armed groups roamed the streets with weapons and enforced their own brand of vigilante discipline. Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best openly criticized city leaders for allowing lawlessness to prevail, as did President Trump, who constantly challenged Durkan and Gov. Jay Inslee to intervene to end the chaos. On June 20, two people were shot, one fatally — the first of several shootings.

Fox News reported that Trump called Anderson after seeing him interviewed on Hannity the night before:

“We just talked to the president of the United States,” Anderson’s friend and family spokesman Andre Taylor, who took part in Wednesday’s interview, told Fox News. “How are you going to top that?”

Taylor said Trump told Anderson he saw his interview with Hannity Wednesday night and was moved by the grieving father’s grace in the face of tragedy. In what Taylor said was a seven-minute call, Trump offered his condolences and support.

“He said he watched ‘Hannity’ last night, and told Horace, ‘Your son is looking down on you and watching over you,’” Taylor recounted. “He was incredibly gracious, and it gave Horace some extra help as he buried his son.”

Anderson said that Mayor Durkan had never contacted him, though she did after his interview aired on Hannity.

In the Hannity interview, Anderson said that something should have been done to end the CHOP long before, and that Black Lives Matter was “not my movement right now.”

Taylor said that CHOP should have been dismantled a week before the shooting, at the first sign of violence.

Acting U.S. Attorney: We’ve Charged 150 Cases, Assisted with ‘Hundreds’ of Local Cases on Recent Violence

Ian Hanchett2 Jul 2020

2:07

On Thursday’s broadcast of the Fox News Channel’s “Tucker Carlson Tonight,” acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Michael Sherwin said that U.S. attorney’s offices have charged 150 cases related to property destruction and other crimes, and there have been hundreds of other cases brought on local charges through federal assistance with local officials in relation to recent violence in the country.

Sherwin said, “[P]eople can’t unilaterally decide what is right and what is wrong. And if those people do make that decision on their own and take the law into their own hands, the law will come after them and the United States will use federal resources to charge you if you’re inciting violence or destroying these monuments.

That being said, under the leadership of President Trump, and the direction of the attorney general, the United States attorney’s offices across the United States have charged, to date, 150 federal cases related to, not only the destruction of federal property, but also a litany of other crimes that are really — have been lost in the shuffle

“In addition to the arson cases, there are several other federal charges that have been levied across the United States, throughout the United States, related to murder in California, to arson throughout the United States, and destruction of properties,” he continued. “So, I want to make it clear. Obviously, we will use all resources to protect these monuments, both in the D.C. area and throughout the United States, but we’re also using these resources, not only to charge federal cases, as you described, the 150 cases. But also, what people don’t realize is the fact that, under the direction of the attorney general, the FBI, and other federal law enforcement officials have leveraged and worked with local officials throughout the United States to charge hundreds of other cases related to local charges.”

The Roman Judge Lucius Cassius is reported to have often used the phrase: “Cui bono” or “who benefits?”

That very question needs to be asked in examining why an intelligence officer in our government committed a felony by releasing classified information alleging that the Russians are paying bounties for the Taliban to kill American soldiers.

Who benefits? Well, obviously partisan anti-Trump Democrats, and their facilitators in the media, are beside themselves with glee. This felonious leak furthers their campaign narrative that President Trump is either ill-informed or uninformed about intelligence and unwilling to take a hard line against Russia.

At least on the surface, that seems to characterize most of the frenzy about the unverified, anonymous raw intelligence. To the media, it is simply fodder for their Trump Derangement Syndrome.

But in examining the leaker’s motives, it is important to ask further: Who benefits?

Sure, the usual partisan Democrats benefit. But let’s not miss that the war caucus (a.k.a. the Never-Trump neocon warmonger playgroup) is using this leaked rumor to advocate for staying indefinitely in Afghanistan.

As President Trump tries to end America’s longest war, the usual forever war advocates like Liz Cheney are using this so-called “intelligence” to criticize the president for trying to end the Afghan War.

The Defense Authorization bill before the Senate bashes the president’s push to end the war by stating that any attempt to leave Afghanistan after nineteen years would be “precipitous.”

If the leak is not a complete fabrication, it could endanger our agents or their sources in the field.

But, it’s even more important to understand the felony leaker’s motives. If the leaker is part of the neocon collaborative that seeks perpetual war, realize that leaking any information, whether verified or not, that can foment fear of Russia in Afghanistan also impedes President Trump’s desire to end the war

Too bad not a single Democrat in Washington remembers their once-upon-a-time opposition to forever wars. To Democrats in Congress, it seems more important to beat up President Trump as “weak” on Russia than admit that the Russian bounty leak may well be motivated by war advocates hidden deep, deep within our very own intelligence community.

That is an inconvenient truth that formerly anti-war Democrats now completely ignore.

Netflix Orders Queer-Friendly Animated Children’s Series ‘DeadEndia

Netflix is ordering a so-called queer-friendly animated children series DeadEndia, a horror-comedy series known for its tales of adolescence and inclusion of LGBTQ story lines.

Netflix announced on Thursday that the “quirky, spooky and hilarious” DeadEndia series — based on the graphic novels from creator Hamish Steele — will premiere globally on Netflix in 2021. “The graphic novels have been lauded for capturing the growing pains of early adulthood of characters with a wide variety of identities and experiences including Barney, a transgender teen, and neurodiverse Norma,” said Netflix.

I was going to link the video on YouTube but I don’t think I want to contribute to their sickness. Time to move forward and start shutting down shit like Netflix and others promote
