Trump being a successful business man was always patient with his deals knowing most would turn out in due time. The seller was always aware of the deal proposed and when a hardship came about he could go back to Trump to accept or renegotiate. Patience was (is) Trumps greatest asset. When POTUS says No Deals, any small window afforded to a DS operative seems a golden opportunity for survival.
To me the Clock has become a symbol of waiting and patience for the best deal. No need to throw money away at an impulse buy.
