  1. I would just start over with the crappy White House grounds. It turned into a giant series of parking lots a long time ago, with asphalt parking creeping in from all sides. Protestors supporting foreign powers love protesting close by.

  1. Just turn all the nearby streets and parking lots back into lawn, and build a secure parking garage where Pershing Park is now. Annex Lafayette Park and the Ellipse. Say it prevents global warming.

  1. All surface parking lots should be removed. Let them bitch, it’s not a strip mall. Bus parking would be pushed to South of the Ellipse, which would also be the main entrance.

  1. [1] Double the size of the West Wing, [2] Enclose the Rose Garden somehow (ask Elon) for Presidential addresses, [3] Enclose the Kennedy Garden as First Family outdoor space, [4] Design a French garden, collaborating with the French, and structure for tourists, [5] Design a Japanese garden, working with the Japanese, and pagoda for tourists to view

  1. Build a massive open air pavilion made from heavy beam, tongue and groove reclaimed barn timbers from every state with ridiculously elaborate Amish craftsmanship and a similarly elaborate copper roof and scaled fire places or pits. Name it Pennsylvania Pavilion and use for informal events such as BBQs.

  1. Build a national Revolutionary Hall as a banquet hall for the White House for much larger state dinners or events honoring Americans. Kennedy Center in scale with Roman or Athenian architecture.

  1. Replace the several military monuments with a concentrated new location, Remembrance Field with large squared off hedges for ceremonies.

  1. Enlarge the Ellipse, rename it for Lincoln, build a massive underground visitors center, similar to the one at The Capital. Build a rotunda in the center of the Ellipse as a focal point for tourists to take pictures with the White House in the background. Similar to but much larger than the one on Boston Common.

  1. Take over the streets between Lafayette Park and the Ellipse for security and to remove the opportunity to protest at those locations. They would now be secure areas. Replant the trees to frame the White House from North and South, plant more fir or pine trees to frame the White House. Just stop planting new trees for bullshit. Log all the trees and the southern end of the South Lawn, replace with giant fountains.

  1. Build a Mark Twain Amphitheater south of Revolutionary Hall for concerts or children’s events.

  1. Ditch all the outbuildings and tennis courts and misc parking. Move the landscaping sheds and vehicles underground.
