Yeah. You are born again when you put your complete faith and trust in Jesus and ask Him to be saved.
Anything beyond that is Works.
Repent, as in change your mind.
Turn from a false belief into belief on Christ, who took all the sins of the world on the cross, and in Hell as the perfect sinless sacrifice for all Mankind.
By grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast.
~ Ephesians 2:8-9
God is as kind as He is just.
You will go to Hell because you have sinned. All have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.
That is why Jesus (who was God in the flesh) sacrificed Himself. He took the punishment for Sin, which is Death and Hell. Then He rose again, conquering the world, and offers eternal life to all who believe and trust the work that He did to save them.
If we could save ourselves, Jesus wouldn't have had to do what He did. This is a logical argument backed by scripture (Galatians 2:21)
