Six Mexican nationals were hospitalized on Thursday after their handlers crashed into a tree at a local church, when law enforcement intercepted a human smuggling attempt involving 13 people.
Two men from Mexico stand accused of engaging in human smuggling of other Mexican nationals. The duo fled from Uvalde County Sheriff’s Office deputies and U.S. Border Patrol agents in a truck filled with 11 other people.
