Grassley: ‘The Deep State Is so Deep Its People Get Away with Political Crimes’

In a series of tweets today, Sen.Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) described the depth of the “Deep State” as so great that its members “get away with political crimes.” In one tweet, Grassley referred to recent remarks by Attorney General Bill Barr asserting that President Donald Trump was indeed the target of an “organized effort” to remove him from office.

Grassley fears U.S .Attorney John Durham’s ongoing investigation into the origins of the Russia hoax may avoid making a final determination or bringing prosecutions, so as not to influence the upcoming election.

Grassley was referring to comments Attorney General Bill Barr made in an interview aired yesterday on Fox News Sunday Morning Futures with Maria Bartiromo:

Maria Bartiromo: A source said to me a couple of years ago, speaking of the Russia collusion story, that this was the closest the United States ever came to a coup to take down a president since the assassination of Lincoln. Is that an appropriate statement?

Barr: In this sense I think it is the closest we have come to an organized effort to push a president out of office, but I’m not reaching a judgment as to what the motivations there were.

Subsequently, Grassley wrote that “the deep state is so deep” that its members get away with political crimes.

In prepared floor remarks released last week, Grassley questioned whether Obama and Biden deliberately took steps in the final hours of their administration to undermine the incoming administration. “It sure looks like they did,” he concluded.

Grassley then noted how the incoming Trump administration was unaware of the fact that Obama, Biden, Comey, and Strzok were busy setting the stage for what would become a multi-year struggle against the baseless/unfounded/groundless/unsubstantiated notion that the Trump administration colluded with the Russian government.

“So much for a peaceful transition of power,” he remarked.

Washington Post Says Washington and Lee University MUST CHANGE ITS NAME because Washington “Perpetrated Racial Terror” — So What About the Washington Post?

Nearly three years ago in August 2017 President Trump warned that Democrats will soon be taking down Washington and Jefferson statues.

Trump called it.

President Trump: George Washington was a slave owner. Was George Washington a slave owner? So will George Washington now lose his status? Are we going to now take down, excuse me. Are we going to take down statues of George Washington? How about Thomas Jefferson? What do you think of Thomas Jefferson? You like him? OK, good. Are we going to take down his statue because he was a major slave owner? Now, are we going to take down his statue?

Trump was right.

The leftist mob tore down a Thomas Jefferson statue at Jefferson High School in Portland in June.

Leftists have defaced several Washington and even Lincoln statues across the country

Now this…

The Washington Post tweeted out on July 4th that George Washington “perpetrated racial terror.”

The pundits at the Post are calling on Washington and Lee University to change its name.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot Blames Coronavirus for Her City’s Rising Murder Rate After Dozens of People Shot Over 4th of July Weekend

Democrats never take responsibility for their failures.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot on Monday blamed the Coronavirus for her city’s rising murder rate.

Last week it was reported 65 people were shot across Chicago as Mayor Lightfoot pushed for police reform and lectured the city on Coronavirus safety measures.

Four children were among the 65 people shot.

A total of 18 people died, including 2 children and a baby.

There was even more violence over 4th of July weekend, but Mayor Lightfoot refused to acknowledge the real reason for the escalating murder rate in Chicago.

“All of these forces are coming together at the same time and making it very difficult. The ecosystem of public safety that isn’t just law enforcement but is local, community-based, they, too, have really been hit hard by COVID and are now just kind of coming back online and getting their footing,” Lightfoot said.

CNN didn’t even push back.

Joe Biden Warns ‘Students of Color’ Will Suffer if Schools Remain Closed

Joe Biden told members of the National Education Association’s (NEA) representative assembly that the longer schools remain closed due to the coronavirus, the more low-income “students of color” will suffer learning losses.

However, that message may not have been what many teachers would have liked to hear since it has been teachers’ union leaders and their members who have condemned President Donald Trump’s call for reopening schools.

PBS provided video of Biden during the virtual convention, who could be seen seated in a chair, wearing a mask, which he removed when NEA President Lily Eskelsen Garcia introduced him:

Biden said he saw the coronavirus “challenge” coming early on and was calling on President Donald Trump to address it in “late January,” but that, in his view, Trump “failed to take any action” that would get “educators and students back in the classroom.”

Like most Democrats, however, Biden said the way to open up schools again was with even more federal funding.

Trade Group for Koch, GM Asks Trump for More Foreign Workers

A trade association that includes General Motors and the Koch Industries is asking President Donald Trump to cancel his popular June 22 decision to narrow and reform the nation’s visa worker programs.

“We urge you to lift the restrictions in the June 22 proclamation and to work with Congress to identify ways to ensure these visa programs continue,” said the June 6 letter, signed by Jay Timmons, a former GOP staffer who heads the National Association of Manufacturers.

The letter is a challenge to the grassroots groups of U.S. professionals and immigration reformers whose letters, emails, tweets, and activists helped persuade Trump to sign his unprecedented and popular June 22 revamp of many visa programs. The visa programs keep at least 1.3 million foreign graduates in U.S. jobs, provide cover for a growing population of illegal college-trained migrants, and shift wealth from wage earners to stock investors.

Timmons wants Trump to restart the annual inflow of 100,000 H-1B workers and to halt the regulatory reform of the H-1B program that keeps 600,000 foreign workers in the United States. The Trump reform is intended to force companies to pay higher wages when they try to import foreign workers for jobs needed by U.S. graduates.

Trump’s curbs are making it difficult for companies to import foreigners to manage U.S. workforces, Timmons said in the letter:

The restrictions are already having serious consequences for manufacturers and the economy;

Plant managers at facilities across multiple sectors, including automotive and heavy machinery, will not be able to access their workplaces to ramp up new production and establish new production lines.

Electrical utility manufacturers will not be able to bring on the high-skilled employees needed for engineering and production for critical infrastructure resiliency:

Pharmaceutical and chemical sector research and development that was set to take place in the United States may shift overseas so that specially trained managers and PhDs can begin critical work, and

Multinational companies’ plans to developer senior leaders … are on hold for an indeterminate amount of time.

“That’s absurd,” responded Mark Krikorian, director of the Center for Immigration Studies. “There are 20 million unemployed. They’re not all factory managers, but among those 20 million people, there will be a wide variety of talents and experiences, and they need to look,” he said.

“If I were at the White House, I’d say, ‘Give me names, write out specifically what the [excluded] person is going to do,'” he said. “In other words, I’d call their bluff,” he added.

“If this is all they can come up with, the effects of the visa bans [on U.S. companies] aren’t likely to be all that bad,” he said.

Talking point confirmed

NYC's De Blasio Blames Coronavirus For City's Violence, But His Own Top Cop Blames De Blasio And His 'Reforms'

NYC Bill De Blasio, Seattle Jenny Durkan and Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey seem to be locked in a perpetual contest to decide who is the nation’s worst mayor. Just when it looks like one has the edge, one of the others steps up and delivers more incompetence.

Frey allowed the rioting to start. Result: Mayhem and murder.

Durkan let the rioters create Durkanstan by taking over and squatting in downtown Seattle. Result: Mayhem and murder.

Now Bill De Blasio is blaming the surge in New York’s violence on coronavirus. Seriously.

“I want to talk about what happened this weekend. Many were out there celebrating, but we saw too much violence, and we have a lot of work to do to address it,” de Blasio said, while adding that “there is not one cause for something like this.”

“This is directly related to coronavirus,” de Blasio said according to Fox News. “This is a very serious situation… As we’re getting into warmer and warmer weather, we’re feeling the effects of people being cooped up for months, the economy hasn’t restarted – we have a real problem here.”

Celebrating America is bad. Protesting America is good. That’s not subtext, it’s just De Blasio’s thinking. Hizzoner hit the streets and marched with the protesters, ignoring the probability that the protests could spread the virus. But if you went to the park for a family cookout to celebrate the Fourth of July, you’re bad. And if you’re a Jewish kid who wanted to play at the playground, De Blasio locked the gates.

New York’s murder surge predates the Fourth of July holiday, tracking pretty well with De Blasio’s bail reform and again with defunding New York’s finest.

New York’s top cop is having none of it. After diplomatically agreeing that the city’s surge in violence has several causes, NYPD Chief Terence Monahan offered different, and more direct, causes for the increasing violence including De Blasio’s bail reform.

“A lot of different individuals are on the street that should not be on the street,” Monahan said Monday, noting that inmate releases from Rikers Island due to COVID-19, bail reform and the newly imposed ban on chokeholds contributed as well.

“It has our cops hesitating to enforce some of those quality-of-life issues,” he said, noting that police do not have a problem with the ban on chokeholds, but that other language in the new legislation makes it difficult for officers to make arrests, including using their knees on a suspect’s back.

“The animosity toward police out there is tremendous,” Monahan said. “Just about everyone we deal with is looking to fight a police officer when we make an arrest, so it is vital that we get communities together supporting and speaking up for police.”

That animosity is dominating New York and dozens of other Democrat-run cities across the country.

De Blasio and the city council authorized cutting $1 billion from the city’s police budget. That move was so wrong-headed even Gov. Cuomo mocked him for it. Cuomo has no leg to stand on after his COVID nursing home policy did so much damage.
