As far as I see, they already have a story and a headline, they just come to cover their stories as "legit" based on questions asked in press conferences. Thats why they so viciously hunt for answer which could cover their narative

I don't know why you brought up dual-citizenship to this question, but I think you want to say that someone is feeding them stories, which they later trying to cover
