According to multiple reports, the United States has officially withdrawn from the World Health Organization. The White House notified members of Congress on Tuesday afternoon and a letter was sent to the UN explaining the departure.

The Trump White House and the international health body have been at odds for months over the US-19 handling of COVID-19 and the WHO’s relationship with China.

The move comes months after Trump began calling out the organization for its ties to China — it took until last week for the WHO to admit they first heard of the virus in December from the US and that China never self-reported.

Trump wrote a letter to the WHO calling for it to show independence from China in May and discussed leaving the body all together for months if it didn’t make serious changes — it appears the revisions weren’t made in time.

Illegal Immigrant Child Rapist Released from Jail by Maryland Sanctuary County Remains at Large

A Maryland county that offers illegal immigrants sanctuary keeps releasing dangerous criminals from jail to shield them from federal authorities, most recently a man from El Salvador who raped a seven-year-old girl multiple times. Rather than honor a detainer issued by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), officials in Montgomery County freed the child rapist on bond recently and he remains at large. Court documents obtained by a local media outlet say the 56-year-old, Rene Ramos-Hernandez, who reportedly lives illegally in Brentwood “forced unwanted sexual intercourse” with the girl “at least ten times.”

In a statement issued this week, ICE blasts Montgomery County officials for protecting illegal aliens who commit state crimes. “Montgomery County continues the practice of not honoring lawful ICE detainers and release potential public safety threats back into the community,” said acting Baltimore Field Office Director Francisco Madrigal. “When they refuse to give adequate notification of an impending release to allow a safe transfer of custody, it shows their actions are insincere. ICE believes the best way to protect public safety is for law enforcement to work together.” The agency’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) lodged a detainer with the Montgomery County Detention Center on June 19 and authorities blew it off, instead discharging Ramos-Hernandez on June 23. ICE was notified that the illegal immigrant rapist was let go, but officers at the Montgomery County jail refused to hold Ramos-Hernandez until ERO officers arrived at the facility, according to the agency.

Ramos-Hernandez has lived in the U.S. illegally for years. In fact, the rapes occurred from 2002 to 2003, when he was in his late 30s and the girl was just seven. The victim reported the crimes to Montgomery County Police in 2017 and it took almost two years for local authorities to track down the illegal alien. On June 18 he was booked at the Montgomery County Detention Center (MCDC) in Rockville on two counts of second-degree rape and one count of sexual abuse of a minor. The next day ICE lodged the detainer. A Montgomery County judge granted Ramos-Hernandez a $30,000 bond and now the feds cannot find him even though bail conditions include electronic monitoring and curfew. Ramos-Hernandez was also ordered to have no contact with minors, which is a joke considering authorities do not even know where he is. He provided the court with a Brentwood address and claims to work as a “remodeler,” according to court records cited in the news story. He faces up to 70 years in prison if authorities ever find him.

From ‘Made in China’ to ‘Owned by China’: 20 deals show how China is gobbling up U.S. assets

Between 2002 and 2016, Chinese state-owned or state-linked companies acquired more than $120 billion worth of assets in 40 states across the U.S.

U.S. lawmakers are seeking how to address growing American supply chain concerns amid the global coronavirus pandemic. In addition to most consumer goods and electronics, China reportedly manufactures "more than 90% of U.S. antibiotics, vitamin C, ibuprofen and hydrocortisone, as well as 70% of acetaminophen," among other crucial drugs imported by the U.S.

Sen. Rick Scott (R-Fla.) has become one of the most vocal critics of the Chinese Communist Party and has urged a boycott of goods made in China. “We have to pass a law: Stop buying anything from Communist China,” Scott said in a recent interview. "Nothing. Don’t buy any products from them."

However, a boycott of goods made in China would do little to address growing Chinese influence over American interests achieved via investments, mergers, and acquisitions. Between 2002 and 2016, Chinese state-owned or state-linked companies acquired more than $120 billion worth of assets in 40 states across the U.S. Just 15 Chinese entities (sovereign wealth funds, state-owned corporations, or state-linked private sector firms) accounted for 60% of this activity. In 2016 alone, more than 50 of these Chinese acquisitions exceeded $50 million. Several Chinese takeover deals exceeded $1 billion.

Here are 20 Chinese investments and buyouts that have consequences for American consumers (and potentially 2020 election voters):

1. Reddit — China’s Tencent Invested $150 Million in 2019

Online social forum Reddit (majority-owned by Conde Nast publishing) received $150 million in funding from China's Tencent. The investment is "an odd pairing between one of the architects of China’s Great Firewall of censorship and one of America’s most lawless free-speech forums," wrote TechCrunch’s Josh Constine. Reddit has since placed the most popular pro-Trump subreddit, The_Donald, in "quarantine," where it effectively ceased all activities.

1. TikTok — Viral video platform owned by Chinese company valued at over $100 billion

China’s ByteDance created TikTok in September 2016 and launched the millennial-friendly social network on the iOS and Android app stores in 2017. In October 2018, TikTok became the most downloaded app in the U.S. — the first Chinese app to do so — and ranked among the 10 most-downloaded apps in the last decade (with the likes of Facebook, Twitter and Instagram). TikTok users were recently praised by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) for helping to disrupt a Trump campaign event in Tulsa, Okla.

Face Masks Pose Serious Risks To The Healthy, Doctor Says

Dr. Russell Blaylock warns that not only do face masks fail to protect the healthy from getting sick, but they also create serious health risks to the wearer. The bottom line is that if you are not sick, you should not wear a face mask.

As businesses reopen, many are requiring shoppers and employees to wear a face mask. With the advent of the so-called COVID-19 pandemic, we have seen a number of medical practices that have little or no scientific support as regards reducing the spread of this infection. One of these measures is the wearing of facial masks.

There is growing evidence that the treatment protocol issued to treating doctors by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), mainly intubation and use of a ventilator (respirator), may have contributed significantly to the high death rate.

“By wearing a mask, the exhaled viruses will not be able to escape and will concentrate in the nasal passages, enter the olfactory nerves and travel into the brain.”

No studies have been done to demonstrate that either a cloth mask or the N95 mask has any effect on transmission of the COVID-19 virus. Any recommendations, therefore, have to be based on studies of influenza virus transmission. And, as you have seen, there is no conclusive evidence of their efficiency in controlling flu virus transmission.

It is also instructive to know that until recently, the CDC did not recommend wearing a face mask or covering of any kind, unless a person was known to be infected, that is, until recently. Non-infected people need not wear a mask. When a person has TB we have them wear a mask, not the entire community of non-infected. The recommendations by the CDC and the WHO are not based on any studies of this virus and have never been used to contain any other virus pandemic or epidemic in history.

Now that we have established that there is no scientific evidence necessitating the wearing of a face mask, are there dangers to wearing a face mask, especially for long periods? Several studies have indeed found significant problems with wearing such a mask. This can vary from headaches, to increased airway resistance, carbon dioxide accumulation, to hypoxia (shortage of oxygen), all the way to serious life-threatening complications.

It is known that the N95 mask, if worn for hours, can reduce blood oxygenation as much as 20%, which can lead to a loss of consciousness, as happened to the hapless fellow driving around alone in his car wearing an N95 mask, causing him to pass out, and to crash his car and sustain injuries. I am sure that we have several cases of elderly individuals or any person with poor lung function passing out and hitting their head.

Unfortunately, no one is telling the frail elderly and those with lung diseases of these dangers when wearing a face mask of any kind—which can cause a severe worsening of lung function.

The importance of these findings is that a drop in oxygen levels (hypoxia) is associated with lessened immunity. In essence, your mask may very well put you at an increased risk of infections.

There is another danger to wearing these masks every day, especially if worn for several hours. When a person is infected with a respiratory virus, they will expel some of the virus with each breath. If they are wearing a mask, especially an N95 mask or other tightly fitting mask, they will be constantly rebreathing the viruses, raising the concentration of the virus in the lungs and the nasal passages. We know that people who have the worst reactions to the coronavirus have the highest concentrations of the virus early on. And this leads to the deadly cytokine storm in a selected number.

One should not attack and insult those who have chosen not to wear a mask, because these studies suggest that is the wise choice.

Passenger trains collide in Czech Republic, three dead, dozens more injured

The trains were travelling on the same rail track due to reasons yet unknown

PRAGUE, July 7. /TASS/. Three people have been killed, while dozens more have been wounded in a collision of two passenger trains in west Czech Republic, spokesperson for the joint corps of rescuers and firefighters Martin Kasal told reporters.

"Two passenger trains collided head-to-head near the village of Pernink, preliminary reports suggest there are around 20 wounded people and three were killed," he noted. "Some of the victims have serious injuries. Medical workers, rescuers and firefighters are heading to the scene of the accident."

According to the spokesperson, the trains were travelling on the same rail track due to reasons yet unknown.

Kasal informed that it was international regional trains travelling between Czech Republic’s Karlovy Vary and Germany’s Johanngeorgenstadt in Saxony that collided. Czech TV clarified that the wounded people (up to 30 people) will be transported to a regional hospital near Karlovy Vary.

Grassley: Senate would 'probably' override Trump veto of defense bill amid base renaming fight

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) is warning that Congress would likely override President Trump if he vetoes a mammoth defense policy bill amid the fight over a plan to rename Army bases named after Confederate figures.

Grassley, during a call with Iowa reporters on Monday, said he hoped Trump wouldn't veto the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which is set to pass the Senate later this month, over the base renaming.

"If it came to overriding a veto, we’d probably override the veto," Grassley told Iowa reporters on a conference call this week.

A spokesman for Grassley confirmed the remarks, which were reported by the Des Moines Register and the Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier.

Trump has issued eight vetoes since taking over the White House in 2017. Neither the House nor Senate has been able to successfully override one.

Trump has warned that he will veto the bill, which has passed Congress for 59 consecutive years, if it includes a provision, which is currently in the Senate version, on renaming military installations named after Confederate figures.

“I will Veto the Defense Authorization Bill if the Elizabeth ‘Pocahontas’ Warren (of all people!) Amendment, which will lead to the renaming (plus other bad things!) of Fort Bragg, Fort Robert E. Lee, and many other Military Bases from which we won Two World Wars, is in the Bill!” Trump tweeted last week.

The Senate's bill includes a provision that states that within three years the Defense secretary "shall implement the plan submitted by the commission … and remove all names, symbols, displays, monuments, and paraphernalia that honor or commemorate the Confederate States of America … or any person who served voluntarily with the Confederate States of America from all assets of the Department of Defense."

The House Armed Services Committee separately voted to include a provision in its NDAA requiring the names to be changed within a year. Once the House and Senate pass their versions of the defense bill, they'll need to hash out an agreement on a final version of the legislation.

The World Health Organization on Tuesday acknowledged that there was “emerging evidence” of airborne transmission of the new coronavirus, after an international group of scientists said it could spread far beyond two meters.

“We acknowledge that there is emerging evidence in this field… therefore we believe that we have to be open to this evidence and understand its implications regarding the modes of transmission and also regarding the precautions that need to be taken,” the WHO’s Prof. Benedetta Allegranzi told a virtual press briefing.

The two-meter physical distancing guideline has been a major factor in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, which has killed more than 538,000 people and infected over 11.6 million since the outbreak emerged in China last December.

Fauci warns against 'false complacency' on COVID-19

Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, warned Tuesday the U.S. should not fall into “false complacency” because COVID-19 death rates have dropped, noting the virus can cause other severe health outcomes.

“It’s a false narrative to take comfort in a lower rate of death,” Fauci said Tuesday during a livestreamed press conference hosted by Sen. Doug Jones (D-Ala.)

“There's so many other things that are very dangerous and bad about this virus, don't get yourself into a false complacency,” he added.

The rate of COVID-19 deaths has dropped in the U.S. since mid-April when New York was the epicenter of the outbreak.

While the infections have surged in the South and West, with several states seeing single-day highs in recent days, death rates have not increased. That could be because younger adults are making up a higher percentage of new cases compared to the early days of the epidemic, when the elderly were particularly hard hit.

Experts anticipate deaths, a lagging indicator in an outbreak, will rise as people generally don’t die until weeks after they become sick.

Still, President Trump and his allies have touted the falling death rate as an indicator the U.S. is succeeding in its fight against COVID-19.

Trump over the weekend claimed that COVID-19 is “totally harmless” to 99 percent of people who get the disease and he continued to tie surging case numbers to increased testing.

Experts say both claims are false. They note that even people who don’t die of COVID-19 can become seriously ill, requiring hospitalization and ventilation.

The elderly and people with underlying health conditions like diabetes and obesity are most likely to face serious health outcomes if they get sick with COVID-19, Fauci said. But he added that "we are now getting multiple examples of young people who are getting sick, getting hospitalized and some of them even requiring intensive care."

“The death rate is lower, I admit that. Because people in general, who are young or healthier. But that doesn't mean that you could not get seriously ill," he said.

More than 2.9 million COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in the U.S., including 130,000 deaths.

Outbreaks are growing in Arizona, Texas, Florida and California, which experts say are the new epicenters of the epidemic in the U.S. There is no end to these surges in sight and cases are increasing in 40 states, compared to just 10 a few months ago.

Fauci on Tuesday characterized the increase in new cases as a “resurgence,” noting that a few weeks ago, the U.S. was averaging 20,000 new cases a day, but recently hit 57,000 in a single day.

In an unprecedented Zoom meeting he initiated, Netanyahu was confronted by the owners of restaurants, bars, event halls and gyms over the limitations on their businesses and delays in the transfer of aid they were promised.

“We won’t survive! No businesses will remain, sir! We’re asking that you tell us, like you said at the start of the campaign, that within 48 hours the money will be with us,” one of the business owners said, according to footage of the call aired by Channel 12.

Another participant on the call warned her business would go under if she didn’t receive financial assistance in the coming days.

“We’re collapsing, simply collapsing. I haven’t slept in four months,” she said. “I employ 150 workers, I don’t know what to say to them.”

Deutsche Bank Fined $150 Million For Its Relationship With Sex Offender Jeffrey Epstein

Epstein was a client of Deutsche Bank from August 2013 to December 2018

This is the first time a regulator has punished a bank for its dealings with Epstein.

Deutsche Bank considered Epstein “high-risk” and was aware of his history of sex trafficking

Financial regulators in New York have fined Germany’s largest bank, Deutsche Bank, $150 million for its "significant compliance failures" with respect to its relationship with convicted child sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The fine marks the first time that a regulator has punished a financial institution for its relationship with Epstein.

Epstein was a client of Deutsche Bank from August 2013 to December 2018.

The bank had processed hundreds of transactions for Epstein, the late financier who was found dead in a New York prison cell last August while awaiting trial on child sex trafficking charges. His death has officially been determined to be a suicide.

New York's Department of Financial Services, or DFS, said Deutsche Bank helped Epstein transfer millions of dollars, including more than $7 million in legal fees and more than $2.6 million paid to various women to cover their tuition, rent, among other expenses.

Such transactions included payments to Russian models and some $800,000 in suspicious cash withdrawals.

Some of these payments were made to alleged accomplices “who were publicly alleged to have been Epstein’s co-conspirators in sexually abusing young women,” the regulator said.

"Whether or to what extent those payments or that cash was used by Mr. Epstein to cover up old crimes, to facilitate new ones, or for some other purpose are questions that must be left to the criminal authorities, but the fact that they were suspicious should have been obvious to bank personnel at various levels," the regulator said. "The bank's failure to recognize this risk constitutes a major compliance failure."

The regulator pointed out that Deutsche Bank considered Epstein “high-risk” and was aware of his history of sex trafficking and abuse, including a guilty plea in 2007 to state prostitution charges. Yet they still took on Epstein – who was believed to be a billionaire – as a client.

The $150 million penalty also covers Deutsche Bank’s failures to prevent money laundering at Danske Bank Estonia and at the Cyprus-based bank FBME.

Patriotism Is Now 'White Supremacy'

Donald Trump gave a speech at Mount Rushmore extolling the virtues of America in an unabashed and unapologetic fashion. The reaction to it was astonishing. As Rich Lowry of NRO points out, “Never before has a speech extolling America’s virtues and the marvels or the nation’s heroes played to such poor — and completely dishonest — reviews.” Brit Hume of Fox News thinks the hysterical overreaction to the speech “could be a turning point” in the campaign.

That overreaction included some of the most dishonest coverage of the Trump presidency to date — and that’s saying something.

The opening of a Washington Post report struck a similar note: “President Trump’s unyielding push to preserve Confederate symbols and the legacy of white domination, crystallized by his harsh denunciation of the racial justice movement Friday night at Mount Rushmore, has unnerved Republicans who have long enabled him but now fear losing power and forever associating their party with his racial animus.”

The Post wrote this even though the Rushmore speech didn’t mention Confederate monuments.

What’s more, “none of these pieces were columns or op-eds. All purported to be straight news written by straight-news reporters.” It’s as if the entire woke media is on a crusade to demonize anyone and everyone who utters a disagreeing word about the current climate of terror being perpetrated by a left-wing mob.

There’s no doubt that Trump’s attacks on the Left were hard-edged. In one line oft-quoted by journalists, he said, “In our schools, our newsrooms, even our corporate boardrooms, there is a new far-left fascism that demands absolute allegiance.”

Lowry added, “I suspect that the very journalists who scoff at his description all know that if they or their colleagues say something disparaging or even skeptical about Black Lives Matter, their jobs would instantly be at risk.” So endeth the lesson.

Hyperbole? Of course, dummy, it’s an election year and this was a political speech. Reading some things said about Trump by Democrats, and especially the mob, you’d think he boiled little children and had them on a coronavirus sandwich for lunch.

So there was, indeed, calculation in Trump’s words. But that doesn’t negate the sentiments he uttered that are shared by tens of millions of people in this nation and around the world. Donald Trump said absolutely nothing about America that was controversial in that speech. He gave the same boilerplate expressions of love of country and patriotism that politicians have been giving on the stump since the founding of the republic.

But it was given by Trump, so blow it up.

Part of what is going on here is simply a reaction to anything Trump says or does, but there is a deeper factor at work. The media presumes that it must necessarily be wrong to criticize, as the Washington Post put it, a “racial justice movement” — its catch-all phrase for the woke Left.

Forced to choose between what once would have been the uncontroversial patriotic sentiments expressed at Mount Rushmore and that movement, it’s not even close — patriotism has to be thrown overboard.

The irony here is that in order to show you love America, you have to show how much you hate it. America has always been a schizophrenic country, existing as half slave, half free for much of its history, but this is ridiculous.

If and when the day arrives when championing our Founders and exulting in July 4 is flatly considered an expression of white supremacy, we will look back at the reaction to the Mount Rushmore speech as the canary in the coal mine.

The canary is already dead and the putrid fumes of radicalism and oppression are beginning to consume us all.

COVER-UP: Cuomo Investigates Himself, Finds He's Not at Fault for Deadly COVID-19 Nursing Home Policy

Downstate New York isn’t just the hot spot of the coronavirus pandemic in the United States, but the entire world. Without a doubt, Governor Andrew Cuomo’s nursing home policy contributed significantly to this. On March 25, Cuomo ordered nursing homes to accept patients regardless of their coronavirus status. Even then it was well-known that the elderly were more vulnerable to the virus, yet Cuomo defended the policy. Nursing homes “don’t have a right to object. That is the rule and that is the regulation and they have to comply with that,” Cuomo said in April. He finally rescinded the order on May 11, but the damage had been done. Cuomo enabled a massive outbreak in New York nursing homes and then tried to cover it up with bogus coronavirus stats.

But the cover-up is still happening. Cuomo’s administration “investigated” the policy and its impact, and predictably concluded that the decision to send patients who tested positive for the coronavirus into nursing homes was not a “significant factor” in the thousands of deaths that occurred in nursing home facilities statewide.

Instead, the 33-page Cuomo administration report blamed nursing home staff and visitors for unknowingly infecting nursing home patients. The report, which Cuomo praised, was issued by Health Commissioner Dr. Howard Zucker, a Cuomo-appointee. Cuomo then claimed criticism of the nursing home policy was based on “pure politics.”

“You had this political conspiracy that the deaths in nursing homes were preventable,” Cuomo said. “And now the report has the facts and the facts tell the exact opposite story.”

This report conveniently was presented as state lawmakers are discussing holding private hearings on Cuomo’s nursing home policy.

New York Senate Minority Leader Rob Ortt called the Cuomo administration report “an insult” to every New Yorker who lost a loved one in a nursing home. Nursing home patients represent a mere 0.46 percent of the United States population but account for at least 43 percent of all coronavirus deaths. “The Cuomo administration’s failure to accept responsibility for their disastrous response has been outrageous, but to blame family members who have suffered devastating losses – who were not even able to say goodbye at funerals – is the ultimate low,” Ortt added.

Cuomo has tried to deflect responsibility for the policy, claiming he was merely following Trump’s policy, referring to an administration statement from March 13. “Sorry, Governor, but you’re twisting what the statement said,” McCaughey said. “The administration recommended nursing homes should admit patients even if they were coming from a hospital battling COVID-19, not that patients with COVID-19 themselves should be admitted.”

Appeals Court Blocks Trump Rule on Asylum Claims From Central America

A federal appeals court blocked a rule from the Trump administration that would have denied asylum to people who got to the U.S. by traveling through a third country. The rule is in line with other nations that require asylum applicants seeking asylum because they fear for their lives in their home country to apply for asylum in the first nation they travel to that offers a safe haven. That would invalidate asylum claims from most Central American migrants who pass through Mexico on their way to the U.S.

But that’s not good enough, says a federal judge.

CNN:

The 9th US Circuit Court of Appeals found that the rule “does virtually nothing to ensure that a third country is a safe option” and is a strain on organization resources.

“The appeals court ruled on much broader grounds than the DC District Court which found a procedural violation. The appeals court stated that the rule was flat out unlawful because if [sic] flouted the federal statutes Congress enacted to protect asylum seekers and because it was arbitrary,” said Lee Gelernt, an attorney with the American Civil Liberties Union.

I would like to see the court define a “safe option” besides the United States. Mexico has a high murder rate, but it’s safer than Guatemala or Honduras. Should the standard be the safest option that an asylum seeker can get to or someplace safer than where he started?

The judge who wrote the decision is a Trump appointee.

Judge Timothy Kelly, a Trump appointee at the US District Court for the District of Columbia, had similarly sided with the plaintiffs last Tuesday, saying that they will expend more resources and face more difficulties in representing clients for which the rule applies.

Kelly also noted that new coronavirus restrictions on the border largely bar migrants from entering the US, so the court action will not lead to “disruptive consequences.”

“Indeed, that recent pandemic-related administrative action appears to have effectively closed the southern border indefinitely to aliens seeking asylum only underscores that vacatur of the Rule will not result in prohibitively disruptive consequences,” Kelly wrote.

Kelly is right in that there will not be a flood of asylum seekers at the border. But the future is less certain. A Biden presidency would throw open the borders and radically liberalize asylum rules. And it’s doubtful a Biden administration would work very hard to keep illegal aliens from flooding the country.

This isn’t “fear-mongering” or “race-baiting” or any other false charge made by the open borders crowd. There is such a thing as common sense in immigration policy. Trump, to his credit, tried to inject some of that into the process of deciding who can come and who can stay.

As a practical matter, ask the border patrol if they can handle another tidal wave of migrants seeking entry into the U.S. — legally or illegally. The answer is a resounding no and there will be thousands of people who suffer needlessly because the left wants to signal how virtuous and compassionate they are.

REMINDER: WHO Created Global Pandemic Panic Based on Fraudulent Data and It’s Leader Tedros is Connected to Islamic Terrorism and Is a China Puppet

Today President Trump notified Congress about the US breaking ties with the now corrupt World Health Organization. Based on our prior reporting, it is easy to see why the President is taking this action.

We first reported on March 17, 2020, on the controversial Ethiopian politician and Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, and his irresponsible and criminal fear mongering. Tedros claimed in a press conference in early March that the fatality rate for the coronavirus was 3.4% — many multiples that of the fatality rate of the common flu which is estimated to be around 0.1%.

This egregiously false premise led to the greatest global panic in world history.

The Director General of the WHO spoke on March 3, 2020 and shared this related to the coronavirus:

While many people globally have built up immunity to seasonal flu strains, COVID-19 is a new virus to which no one has immunity. That means more people are susceptible to infection, and some will suffer severe disease.

Globally, about 3.4% of reported COVID-19 cases have died. By comparison, seasonal flu generally kills far fewer than 1% of those infected.

The problem with this calculation was the numbers Tedros used for the flu in the US were increased by an estimated 22 million individuals who were not measured but who were presumed to have had the flu while the coronavirus number had no related adjustment.

We were criticized for this observation but then a week ago, the CDC announced a similar estimated number of Americans had the China coronavirus but have not been tested and confirmed for having it. The CDC estimated a minimum of 20 million Americans in this particular situation resulting in the mortality rates for the China coronavirus in the US being very similar to that of the common flu confirming what we reported in March.

We also reported on March 23, that Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, is connected to Islamist terrorists and reportedly promotes what China wants him to promote.

On February 15, 2020, the director-general of the World Health Organization (WHO), Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, addressed the Munich Security Conference. At that time, there were only about 60K cases of Covid-19 in China and about 500 in the rest of the world. Tedros was more concerned with misinformation than with containment. In his address, he said:

“We’re not just fighting an epidemic; we’re fighting an infodemic. Fake news spreads faster and more easily than this virus, and is just as dangerous.” And if we don’t tackle this, he went on, “we are headed down a dark path that leads nowhere but division and disharmony.”

But the Director General is reporting whatever China wishes. As noted above by Apelbaum, China has invested millions in Ethiopia. This may be in part why Tedros has made the following statements about the WHO:

Given the misinformation about the novel coronavirus epidemic, WHO has communicated with some companies including Google to ensure that the public will get the authoritative information from the WHO.”

“Travel restrictions [to and from China] can have the effect of increasing fear and stigma, with little public health benefit.”

“The lockdown of people is unprecedented in public health history, so it is certainly not a recommendation the WHO has made.”

African cardinal criticizes Black Lives Matter movement for ‘dismantling’ civilization

South African Cardinal Wilfrid Fox Napier strongly criticized the Black Lives Matter movement for its “dismantling” of civilizations and cultures.

Napier, himself a black man and archbishop of Durban on the South African coast, tweeted that a “ brief study of the founding statement of ‘Black Lives Matter’ indicates the movement is being hijacked by the interests & parties committed to dismantling the very values, structure & institutions which have over the centuries undergird the best civilisations & cultures!”

After his original tweet on July 4, Napier followed up on the Black Lives Matter movement two days later. He said, “Another crucial test of the authenticity of the Black Lives Matter movement will be its stance vis a vis Planned Parenthood and the Abortion Industry!”

Napier added, “The same test applies when assessing the sincerity of those who voice thunderous condemnation against Domestic Violence, (erroneously called “Gender based Violence) as opposed to the absolute silence concerning Violence inflicted upon Babies in their mother’s womb!”

As pointed out by Illinois Right to Life, abortion center Planned Parenthood is actually a danger to the black community. Not only was Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger a racist. The organization also targets minority communities. Among the black community, the abortion giant is the leading cause of death.

“According to the U.S. Center for Disease Control, there have been over 15.5 million abortions performed on African Americans,” Illinois Right to Life said. “These 15.5 million Black lives lost to abortion outnumber the deaths of Black people due to AIDS, violent crimes, accidents, cancer, and heart disease combined.”

US Bishop Joseph Strickland of Tyler, Texas, also criticized the movement. Bishop Strickland talked about the platform of the Black Lives Matter movement, which contains several positions Catholics can in no way support. Linking to the movement’s website, he tweeted, “Please educate yourself on this!”

He then pointed out that Black Lives Matter’s statement of belief mentions two points “that are contrary to FAITH…#1 opposing the nuclear family (where is dad?) and #2 opposing God’s plan for sex as a union of male & female.”

Black Lives Matter, according to its own website, wants to “disrupt the Western-prescribed nuclear family structure requirement by supporting each other as extended families and ‘villages’ that collectively care for one another, especially our children, to the degree that mothers, parents, and children are comfortable.”

The term “villages” likely refers to Hillary Clinton’s book “It Takes a Village,” the title of which was based on the African proverb, “It takes a village to raise a child.” Clinton argued for society’s shared responsibility for successfully raising a child. Catholic Senator Rick Santorum eventually wrote a rebuttal, titled, “It Takes a Family.”

In addition to wanting to “disrupt” the traditional family, Black Lives Matter fosters “a queer‐affirming network. When we gather, we do so with the intention of freeing ourselves from the tight grip of heteronormative thinking, or rather, the belief that all in the world are heterosexual (unless s/he or they disclose otherwise).”

The website’s section on “What We Believe” mentions transgenderism in several other places. “We make space for transgender brothers and sisters to participate and lead,” the movement stresses. “We are self-reflexive and do the work required to dismantle cisgender privilege and uplift Black trans folk, especially Black trans women who continue to be disproportionately impacted by trans-antagonistic violence.”

American Judge Says He Is “Tentatively Inclined” To Reject Bayer’s Monsanto Settlement

As the EU’s antitrust regulator announces another round of sweeping antitrust investigations into the big US tech behemoths, an American judge is apparently making noises about throwing out a major settlement involving German multinational pharma conglomerate Bayer. According to the settlement, which we reported on a few weeks ago when it was first announced, Bayer had agreed to pay $10 billion to settle thousands of lawsuits brought against it over its purchase of Monsanto, the American agrichemical giant that’s best known for producing Roundup weed killer.

The lawsuits stemmed from evidence that glyphosate, one of the primary ingredients of Monsanto’s Roundup, is actually carcinogenic. Which means that by marketing Roundup into ubiquity, even pairing it with genetically modified crop seeds allowing farmers to spray the stuff then simply forget about it since it wouldn’t harm the crops.

A landmark California Court ruling handed down in 2017 found Bayer liable for the plaintiffs’ cancers, since it now owned Monsanto. The mountain of litigation has weighed on Bayer’s share price ever since, making the Monsanto acquisition one of the biggest blunders in the history of the storied German firm. The two sides have been in negotiations virtually ever since, until two weeks ago, when a majority of the plaintiffs agreed to a $10 billion settlement.

U.S. District Judge Vince Chhabria wrote in a court filing Monday that a proposed system for dealing with future lawsuits over the herbicide is problematic. Shares of Bayer, which inherited the weedkiller through its purchase of Monsanto, fell as much as 6.9% in Frankfurt, the most intraday since March 23.

The judge’s misgivings center on a plan to create a class of future claims as part of the nearly $11 billion settlement. Any change to that portion of the proposal wouldn’t necessarily affect the rest of the deal, in which the company agreed to resolve about 125,000 existing lawsuits.

About 30,000 claims, contending that Roundup caused non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, are not yet subject to deals between plaintiffs and Bayer. Some U.S. plaintiffs’ lawyers are vowing to file another wave of new suits that could add tens of thousands to that total.

Chhabria set a July 24 hearing to consider the class-action proposal, which he said he’s “tentatively inclined” to reject. That portion of the plan would establish a scientific panel to determine whether Roundup’s active ingredient causes cancer, while still potentially allowing users of the herbicide to press claims.

However, a minority of plaintiffs and their lawyers held out for a better deal, arguing that the $10BN settlement would preclude other victims from seeking compensation in the future. And now, apparently, a US judge agrees, and in an opinion filed on Monday, he is hinting at the possibility of striking down the proposed settlement, and forcing the two sides to start afresh.

During the next round of talks, the plaintiffs would have much more leverage over Bayer, and would likely be able to negotiate a much more generous settlement.

That’s bad news for Bayer shareholders, as one analyst explained to Bloomberg.

The judge’s filing reinforces concerns from investors that Bayer’s Roundup deal isn’t enough to get it beyond the mountain of litigation, Alistair Campbell, an analyst at Liberum Capital, said in a note. While Bayer’s market valuation is “deeply discounted” right now, that situation probably won’t change until the company can convince the market that it’s finally resolved the Roundup legal headache.

It’s also a long-overdue move by an American court to hold a European company accountable for alleged abuses perpetrated in the US, after the EU has spent so much time nitpicking every little violation committed by Apple, Facebook, Amazon and Alphabet.
