In the First 'Dossier Lawsuit' Against Steele, Judge Awards Damages to Those He Falsley Accused

A British judge on Wednesday ordered former British spy Christopher Steele to pay damages to two Russian bankers, who Steele had accused in the 'Trump dossier' of having illicit ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Steele goes to trial in another dossier-related lawsuit later this month. Aleksej Gubarev, a Russian tech executive, claims that Steele falsely accused him of using his companies to help Russian hackers steal information from Democrats in 2016.

Oregon politician Jonathan Lopez confesses to writing a racist and homophobic letter to himself in June, and claiming it had been left anonymously in his mailbox, police revealed Monday.

The fake letter said he was not welcome in the area and that they 'kill' people like him. It was signed 'Sincerely, America'. Lopez may be charged for initiating a false police report.

Lopez recently ran for the Board of County Commissioners and said he had served with the U.S. Coast Guard. Police also believe this to be false and have reported it to the district attorney
