GEMS software is the KEY to unlocking election vote manipulation
GEMS = Global Election Management System
Many of the digs until now have focused mainly on Dominion election systems - one of the companies that supplies voting machines. (But Dominion also plays another role now: as the current owner of GEMS - see how this happened below).
From what I can tell, the real 'villain' in the piece is the software that runs on these machines: the GEMS software.
GEMS was identified in a suit in 2019 as a serious security risk.
Over and over again, it was implicated - see CAP.

CALL for a DIG on GEMS
DIG SO FAR:
Who developed GEMS?
Still trying to pin that down.
But there was a company - Global Election Systems (GES) that was acquired by Diebold/DESI/Premier in 2002. [Name changes explained BELOW]
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Premier_Election_Solutions#History
As of 2002:
"The City of Norfolk's new election system also uses Diebold's powerful GEMS(TM) (Global Election Management System) software, a market-leading Microsoft Windows(R)-based election management and tabulation system utilizing a platform capable of everything from ballot creation to full election reporting"

IS GES the SAME as GEMS??
good chace it is - but this needs a deeper dig.
Who now controls GEMS?
As of 2009, was Premier Election Systems - formerly Diebold Election Systems, Inc. (DESI)
2009 - Premier/Diebold was sold to ES&S.
But anti-trust legislation resulted in Premier being sold to Dominion in 2010.
The sale included "all versions of the GEMS election management system."
