Ford employees ask the company to stop making police cars

Employees inside Ford have asked the company’s leadership to stop making and selling police vehicles, according to Jalopnik. In response, Ford CEO Jim Hackett has told employees in a letter that he doesn’t think it’s “controversial that the Ford Police Interceptor helps officers do their job” and that Ford will continue the business.

Transgender girl at center of Pearland ISD (Tx) bathroom battle stars in new hit Netflix series

HOUSTON – In 2016, a transgender student at the center of a Pearland school bathroom battle, made national headlines. Now, Kai Shappley is using her voice as an actress on Netflix’s newest hit series, “The Babysitter’s Club.”

She was just about to start kindergarten when Pearland Independent School District leaders decided Kai had to use the boy’s bathroom.

Her mother fought for her daughter's right to be affirmed for who she was, but in 2018, the family decided to move to Austin.

"It was just the safest little place that we could move to for Kai to have equal opportunities as all of her peers," said her mother, Kimberly Shappley.

Craft said his deputies went to Tharpe’s house to check on the girl and they found her severely beaten with acute bruises all over her body, her eyes were swollen shut, and her hair had been cut off. She was rushed by ambulance to a hospital to undergo treatment.

At the hospital, Craft said detectives interviewed the child and she told them that Singletary and Fulks had repeatedly beaten her with their fists and choked her until she lost consciousness. Craft said the 7-year-old told detectives “…she was tired and couldn't take the abuse any longer.”
