For those interested in the Trump Tax Return cases, SCOTUS essentially punted on both and sent them back to the lower courts for further arguments.
In Vance, the court held that the President does not have unfettered immunity from lawsuits while President, but that he does of course have all the same mechanisms available to him as any other defendent. In other words, this will get dragged out for months longer.
In Mazars, the court said that the lower court(s) did not take adequate account of the significant separation of powers concerns implicated by Congressional request for the President's information.
Personally, I think Mazars was a big slap-down to the district court in particular where the judge basically said that he didn't give a shit about separation of powers… and ordered the President to hand over the requested material.
