You might be right. Everyone acts like after November, the military will swoop in and everything will be resolved overnight. I think more realistically, the war will simply go from Silent to HOT and we'll take up in the middle of an almost Red Dawn-tier America. All the things people pretend aren't happening in public will now be common knowledge and life will (for a time at least) get absolutely crazy. People won't be able to bury their heads in the sand or zone out in front of the TV. There will be nothing but the EBS and Strykers will be rolling down the street in major cities like this is fucking Afghanistan.
