"Amid warnings of a potential election “disaster” this fall, Secretary of State Nellie Gorbea sought support Thursday — from a task force she created — for a slate of proposals aimed at making voting easier and safer for voters — and election administrators — during the pandemic.
The package includes a long-time priority for Gorbea that she has not in the past been able to get through the legislature: 20 days of early, in-person voting along with unsolicited mailings of mail ballot applications to every “active” voter in the state ahead of the November vote."
